JOB SCOPE:

· To form part of a team dedicated to desk top claims handling for insurers and self-insureds

· To manage from first notification of loss to settlement of Accident & Health, Property & Casualty claims

· To assess policy liability and determine quantum

· To adhere to strict Service Level Standards

· To Liaise with Brokers and Policyholders

· To keep records of accurate and up to date data

· Provide a high level of customer service

· Request financial payments externally

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· Degree/Diploma level education

· Minimum 1 year of working experience in Accident & Health claims

· Candidates without working experience in Accident & Health claims but experience of medical claims may also apply

· Candidates with medical knowledge will have an advantage.

Senior Underwriter (Life/Health)

Your Role
You are a member of the Asia Life/Health team contributing to the development and profitability of our business in South-East Asia. You have responsibilities for the daily underwriting and claims assessment of medical and financial risks. You will furthermore be involved in underwriting development and research, and product development activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Case underwriting for medical, financial and special risks within the scope of assigned underwriting limits.
• Claims assessment and approval within the scope of assigned claim limits.
• Assist in underwriting and claims review of South-East Asia clients.
• Conduct research on clients‘ needs, collect and consolidate data on underwriting and claims development from the South-East Asia markets.
• Keep track of developments in the relevant markets to help establish solutions or opportunities with the marketing team.
• Assist the actuarial team to monitor portfolio experience and make recommendations for product design.
• Participate in activities related to internal and external training programmes.
• Participate in regional and international initiatives and projects.

Your Profile

• Relevant qualification with at least 5 years work experience in a life insurance or reinsurance company, with a focus on one or more South-East Asian markets.
• Sound medical knowledge and exposure to life, critical illness, disability and health insurance products.
• Professional life insurance qualifications such as FALU or equivalent life underwriting qualifications.
• As your work responsibilities include Malaysia and Indonesia markets, fluency in spoken and written Bahasa is essential.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
