This individual will primarily be overseeing chemical management, implementing the Live Safe program, and organizing EHS awareness campaigns. Key Responsibilities:
Chemical Management:

• Develop and maintain chemical inventory systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding chemical storage, handling, and disposal.
• Conduct hazard assessments for chemical use and implement appropriate control measures.
• Act as chemical coordinator roles in reviewing and approval of chemical request.
• Provide training of chemical management and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Live Safe & EHS Awareness Program Management:

• Lead and implement the Live Safe program, promoting a culture of proactive safety practices across the organization.
• Analyze Live Safe Survey trend to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
• Plan and implement EHS awareness events, safety campaigns, and Live Safe training sessions.
• Collaborate with different departments to engage employees in safety initiatives and increase awareness.
• Develop communication materials such as safety sharing slide, newsletters, and presentations to promote EHS initiatives.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of campaigns and events to continuously improve engagement.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Review the assigned hazardous materials related regulations and industry standards update.
• Perform incident and event follow-up and investigation, determine root cause(s), implement containment action, establish corrective action & preventative action, and verify effectiveness.
• Support in EHS- related audits to ensure operations align with procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master's in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in an EHS role, preferably in manufacturing or chemical management is advantageous
• Strong understanding of chemical safety regulations, ISO45001, ISO14001 and OSHA standards.

Key Accountabilities:

The incumbent shall be responsible in assisting the site in program deliverance and alignment with both local and international codes, recognized industry standards and company requirements from project conception to realization. This translates in executing the site strategic roadmap to ensure site compliance and the right- to-operate with the various operating permitting licenses with all municipal, provincial, or local regulatory requirements, as well all Company HSES Standards (through the design and implementation of site wide programs).

Specific programs to be implemented will developing Risk Assessment, Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Start Safety Review, Chemical Safety and Storage, Construction Safety Programs, any other programs assigned by the team lead but not limited to:

• Working closely with the Team Lead and operational leads in developing Risk Assessment programs and working closely with the relevant stakeholders in identifying the foreseeable hazards.
• Helping to conduct awareness training for Risk Assessment.
• Developing risk assessment template accordance to Company Standard and populate the observations and finding and converting into actionable items.
• Help to track all HAZOPs action items and maintain an updated checklist against the Risk Assessment, and PSSR walkdown.
• Carry out construction walkdown daily including night visits, populate all observations and follow-up with closure of the observations.
• Working and assisting HSE Engineers in identifying and evaluating environmental protection needs for existing and new processes, for assessing the magnitude of risks of non-compliance or environmental harm, including participating in mechanical integrity and reliability engineering evaluations of environmental protection equipment/systems (e.g., wastewater treatment).
• Support Company standards and programs to ensure site follows both local regulatory guidelines and Corporate HSES management system.
• Develop standardized procedures and practices to minimize compliance risks.
• Working closely with the HSE Engineer, relevant stakeholders and identifying the impact and aspect of the site environmental programs and working closely with stakeholders to implement ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
• Implement, enforce, and take ownership on Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and initiatives within his/her areas of responsibilities.
• Constantly sharing on best practices and lessons learnt, share learning experiences to ensure continuous HSE culture improvement on-site.
• Ensure all affiliates are competent and provided with the necessary tools and equipment to work safely and without health risks.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Head of HSES.

Education and Experience:

• BEng/BS Degree in Engineering, Science, Chemistry, Safety or technical equivalent.
• 8 to 10 years of safety and environmental sustainability experience in manufacturing environment. Preference will be given to candidates who understand cGMP/GDP requirements.
• Incumbent must have a good understanding of all local environmental regulations.
• Language skills/English is a must.
