Job Description :

1. Analyse data on Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) performance, conditions and practices.

2. Carry out WSH compliance inspections.

3. Clarify WSH programme requirements to employees of other departments.

4. Coach team members on how to conduct routine checks on work activities.

5. Conduct WSH incident and accident investigations.

6. Conduct document reviews of Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) reports.

7. Coordinate Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) drills and the maintenance of emergency response equipment.

8. Coordinate WSH programme initiatives.

9. Develop and deliver safety briefings.

10. Evaluate WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to identify WSH performance gaps.

11. Evaluate impact of health hazards to employees' safety and prioritise issues based on severity.

12. Highlight barriers in complying with WSH policy and procedure.

13. Identify areas for improvement in the WSHMS.

14. Implement Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) and communicate it to stakeholders.

15. Implement Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) and Risk Management (RM) plans within scope of own work.

16. Maintain WSHMS documentation.

17. Monitor the implementation progress of recommended WSHMS improvements.

18. Propose corrective and preventive measures to address root cause of incident.

19. Review investigation findings to identify causes of incidents and accidents.

20. Support Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policy and procedure implementation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidates are expected to:

• Conduct regular internal safety audits and inspections to identify potential workplace hazards, prepare safety-related reports, and ensure compliance to prevailing workplace safety and health requirements and legal legislations
• Follow up with Project Safety Team / Contractors and provide recommendations to close off outstanding items outlined in safety-related and audit reports
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Ensure risk assessment is performed, workers don appropriate personal protective equipment, and safe working procedures are correctly carried out by workers on-site
• Implement and monitor appropriate safety measures in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Safety Management System
• Highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or HSE guidance
• Work with the senior management team to implement and manage safety programmes in the company
• Provide safety induction or training for new employees
• Conduct fire safety training for staff, tabletop exercise, fire drill exercise as per SCDF requirement
• Perform any other ad-hoc tasks and duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

A successful candidate will possess: -

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent that falls under the MOM acceptable WSH-related qualifications*
• Certification as a Registered MOM WSH Officer
• Proven 2 years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in the rigging or marine industry
• Good knowledge of WSH Act, and rigging industry safety standards and regulations is a plus
• Resilience, self-motivation with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a face-paced environment to meet deadlines
• Able to build and maintain good rapport with all internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise well
• High degree of flexibility and initiative to take on new challenges as the role develops

* Acceptable WSH-related qualifications:

Specialist Diploma in WSH, awarded by SSG and conducted by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, BCA Academy (awarded before 1 November 2022), NTUC Learning Hub and Singapore Institution of Safety Officers (SISO)

Job Description:

1. Assume full responsibility for the comprehensive management of patients within the Dental Clinic, ensuring adherence to established policies and practice guidelines.
2. Make accurate diagnoses and referrals, seeking guidance from senior dentists as necessary to enhance patient care and outcomes.
3. Demonstrate competence and proficiency in performing basic dental procedures, contributing to the overall quality of dental services provided.
4. Provide consultations to Oral Health Therapists, offering guidance and support in the effective management of patients, and ensuring alignment with clinic protocols.
5. Collaborate with and assist the Head Dental Surgeon in the efficient operation of the clinics, responding promptly when called upon, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of clinic services.

Job Requirements:

1. Holds a degree from a university recognised by Singapore Dental Council.
2. Pass the relevant State/Regional Board licensing examination in the country which basic dental degree is obtained from. For any country that imposes such licensing conditions on its own dental graduates, the corresponding conditions will also be required the applicant to practise in Singapore.
3. Must be registered or registrable with the Singapore Dental Council.
