The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (Blood Bank) at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital currently has a contract vacancy for a Medical Laboratory Technologist/ Scientist. You will be an enthusiastic member of the team providing scientific and technical input to the daily operations, issuing of blood/ blood products for transfusions, process improvement, management and development of the Blood Bank. The successful candidate will be appointed as either Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technologist, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Essential basic requirements:

• A good degree (BSc or MSc) in Transfusion Science or Haematology or Biomedical Science.
• Ability and willingness to work shifts, including overnight, weekends and public holidays and on-call standbys.

Desirable requirements:

• Experience of working in a hospital-based Blood Bank or clinical Haematology Laboratory.
• Experience in quality assurance for the testing of clinical specimens.
