Key Responsibilities

This is a direct client-facing role.

• Procedure Assistance: Assist doctors in minor surgical procedures.
• Medication Dispensing: Accurately dispense medication and manage drug inventory, including quarterly stock takes.
• Patient Management: Manage medical records, handle phone calls and inquiries, and schedule appointments.
• Appointment Coordination: Book referral appointments and register patients.
• Clinical & Administrative Duties: Maintain efficiency in both clinical and administrative tasks.
• Clinic Operations: Support smooth clinic operations and assist the surgeon during procedures.
• Other Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Qualifications: Nitec or Diploma in Nursing or higher.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a clinic setting.
• Certification: Must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Attributes: Strong patient care and service skills; a team player who can also work independently.
• Preferred: Nurses with experience assisting doctors in procedures are highly regarded.

Additional Information

1. Salary: Up to $4,400 basic, plus variable bonus and AWS.
2. Work Schedule: 5.5-day work week (Monday to Friday: full day; Saturday: half day). Working hours are based on clinic opening and closing times.

Job Description

Clinical Care

• Comply with approved standards of nursing practices
• Work closely with the resident’s doctor and multi-disciplinary team to provide care to the residents; update on changes in the residents’ conditions and needs
• Assist staff nurses (SN) to develop care plan for each resident and ensure care delivery and nursing interventions are as outlined in the care plan
• Assist in the evaluation of the resident’s response to care interventions and revision of care plan if necessary
• Assist in the assessments of all new admissions
• Prepare residents’ medical records and ensure all documentations are up to date
• Prepare and administer medications (oral and subcutaneous) to residents, complying with safe medication practices (only for those who have been assessed competent in the administration of oral and subcutaneous medicine)
• Supervise junior staff to ensure safe and quality resident care, and in compliance to standards
• Deal with emergency and incident that arises and ensure prompt action to mitigate situation. Escalate promptly to staff nurse/ supervisor, where necessary

Quality

• Work with team to maintain a safe and clean ward environment
• Participate in Quality Assurance/ Infection Control Committee to monitor and evaluate safe, quality and appropriateness of nursing care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects
• Is responsible to be familiar with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and all emergency protocols

Training and Development

• Participate in training and development of junior staff
• Ensure newly joined nursing aide, health care assistant and health attendant are oriented and inducted to provide safe care to residents

Administration

• Ensure the safe storage of all confidential files, records, documents; and that residents confidentiality is maintained at all time
• Ensure that effective and cooperative working relationships are maintained within the Nursing Department and between internal and external customer groups
• Assist in maintaining an inventory list of ward equipment and regular maintenance
• Assist to plan roster and do manpower deployment when needed
• Assume the role of Overall in charge in the absence of RN maintenance

• Supervise staff to ensure safe and quality resident care, and in compliance to standards
• Is responsible for the safe keeping of control drugs

Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Make frequent rounds and attend to residents’ needs. Ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of the residents and report residents’ needs to the nurse
• Assist in ensuring the comfort and good personal hygiene of the residents under his/ her care, and keeping them clean, e.g. oral toilet, showering and grooming, trimming of nails, changing of diapers, changing of clothes and bed sheets
• Assist in serving meals and oral feeding of resident without swallowing disorders
• Assist nursing care staff in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents
• Assist and participate in residents’ recreational, occupational, social and therapy programmes
• Assist nurses to ensure residents take their medicines
• Accompany residents to specialist outpatient clinic for follow-up appointments and outing trips
• Assist in last offices

Quality

• Maintain a safe and clean environment, e.g. cleaning and mopping of spillage or discharges, cleaning of residents’ bed and bedside locker, making of beds
• Participate in staff development programmes
• Is responsible to be familiar with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and all emergency protocols

Administration
