Job Description:

• Manage the electrical system installation, testing & commissioning as well as the mechanical system.
• Oversees and monitors overall day to day operations of M&E department
• Oversees the preparation and interpretation of M&E shop drawings and ensuring it is adhered according to the specifications and engineering calculations.
• Conducting site inspection, quality checks and method statement
• Identifying variation works and submit detailed cost implications to Contracts Manager
• Supervise and control sub-contractors to carry out their works in accordance with the M&E drawings and specifications
• Analyze and interpretation of reports on loading, labour, productivity, quality, materials and performance.
• Review monthly reports on M&E activities and report to management.
• Identify drawing discrepancies or flaws and constantly track construction progress and schedule on-site supervision

Requirements:

• Min Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by PE Board Singapore
• Min 5 years of project management experience in main-contractor
• Demonstrates strong technical competence and excellent time management skills

My client is a Global Developer with a large portfolio of properties who are expanding extensively across Asia. They are currently seeking a VP, Cost & Contracts to be a part of the development team for North Asia.

Responsibilities:

• Implement appropriate procurement strategy for each development project to ensure and control the consistency and standardisation in the application of RFP, Invitation to Tender, LOA and CSA etc. across the regions.
• Support the project teams across the regions in the preparation of related tender documents (Request For Proposal [RFP], Invitation to Tender, Letter of Award [LOA], Construction Contracts, Consultancy Service Agreements [CSA] etc.) and the review and evaluation of variations and/or contractual claims, where required.
• Ensure Legal sign-off/clearance of projects’ RFP, Invitation to Tender, Tender Documents especially various regional construction contract, LOA and CSA etc. across the regions.
• Assist in the assessment of major variation and contractual claims across the regions.
• Ensure that SAP cost data is maintained and updated on a regular basis (e.g. monthly)
• Prepare Concept Design Stage cost plans of various project types across the regions.
• Ensure the cost plan and pricing for the project reflects and meets the project brief.
• Ensure any residual risk is included in the project contingency assessment / allowance.
• Manage/achieve the timely delivery of cost planning deliverables to programme for the concept design in accordance with the overall program and agreed project milestones and through to obtaining GDM sign-off/clearance as required.
• Mine the SAP database to capture the real/actual knowledge of the projects and develop control mechanism and templates etc as Knowledge Banks for cost benchmarks, trends to be used for project costing.

Requirements:

• Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Good subject matter knowledge across the functions of design, project management and the building process of development projects.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a professional office or construction organization, preferably with working knowledge of design and build projects.
• Familiar with local and international construction contracts, such as SIA, Redas, PSSCOC, PAM, FIDIC, JCT etc.
• Experience in commercial, retail, residential, industrial and logistics project types across the regions.
• Promote positive team environment, work collaboratively across international offices to maximise synergies especially across the Design and Project management functions of C&C and others within and outside The Group.
• Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders, as well as people management skills.
• Planning, organising and controlling skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively on tight deadlines.
• Continuous and incremental improvement mindset- questioning and challenging status quo to achieve a better outcome.
• Problem solving and analytical skills which will include for resolving of cost planning, contracts procurement and administration issues for various construction and design activities.

They are currently seeking a Electrical Design Manager to be a part of the development team with a APAC remit.

Responsibilities

* Design due-diligent evaluations on new projects, acquisitions or Asset Enhancement.

* Work closely with different MEP Consultants to derive the optimum and most efficient electrical design solutions and at the same time investigate, through independent research, the best strategic outcome for the Group.

* Identify value engineering opportunities and risks at the inception of project, review and provide advice in shortlisting MEP Consultants.

* Establish the the Group's corporate-wide guidelines and processes for electrical systems across various businesses and drive sustainable initiatives.

* Determine design parameters, cost, materials and technologies such that it is Functional and Fit for its purpose, focusing on Building Efficiencies, Quality of Product and Opex Efficiencies.

* Roll out processes and guide relevant country teams to adapt such practices at country level.

Job Requirements

* Degree in Engineering specializing in Electrical with at least 7 years' relevant development or design experience (including HV system, LV system, ELV systems, etc.)

* Ability to develop schematic / concept designs for Greenfield developments or asset enhancements which meet the project briefs as well as a good understanding of the entire design, project management, and building process of development projects.

* Possess a passionate interest in quality-built environments and designs, have a good appreciation of construction costs.

* Familiar with Greenmark, LEEDs and regional authorities' requirements and able to encourage the creation of solutions appropriate to the needs of Business Units, shareholders and the environment will be preferred.

* Someone who seeks continuous improvement to the design and processes and is knowledgeable of sustainable development, green environmental initiatives and technologies.

* Possess a high level of independence, strong ownership, an analytical mind, endurance and adaptability, team player with demonstrated leadership in driving projects.

* Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate engineering solutions to a non-technical audience.

* Based in Singapore but supports projects across Asia.
