Duties and Responsibilities
• Formulate new CNC programs for production runs or adapt existing programs for different machines and make manual program adjustments as needed.
• Assess drawings to ascertain dimensions and select cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Recognize and implement appropriate tooling based on material types, equipment considerations, cutting conditions, etc.
• Develop work holding/fixturing, if necessary, with support from process engineering.
• Resolve issues encountered during the manufacturing process.
• Direct and provide basic instruction to operators/machinists on machine operation.
• Conduct quality checks with the machine operator to verify that the program is producing parts according to specifications.
• Assist in the RFQ quotation fabrication process as required.
• Possess strong time management skills.
• Perform other similar or related duties as instructed by superiors as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Diploma, or equivalent 3-5 years Nitec in Precision, mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of machine code (G&M code).
• Proficiency in GD&T Demonstrated.
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain, and Tsugami controllers.
• Experience in programming 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills.
• Familiarity with Hyper Mill and Solid Work.
