Ship Repair Supervisor

Job scopes:

• To fulfil ship repair jobs afloat or shipyard
• Carrying out maintenance, service and repair of all mechanical equipment (Diesel Engines, pumps, gearboxes, couplings, alternators, hydraulic system, deck machinery etc) on board all vessels as assigned.
• Troubleshooting all the mechanical equipment on board vessels.
• Jobs involved engine equipment removal, reinstallation, servicing, repair and reconditioning, commissioning activity.
• Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and cleanliness in the workshop.
• Managing team and delivering ship / shipyard schedule required.
• Carrying out any retrofit job for new equipment installation on board vessels.
• VSCC meeting, permit to work system, and trade certificates are required
• Managing of workforce and job, writing job completion report, submitting cost evaluation, liaise with owners representative, and always have to follow company SOP.
• Any other duties as assigned by ship repair manager and management.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Certificate in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years relevant working experience.
• Able to read drawings and write service reports.

Job Description

• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspection and assembly works; repair, service and test machine/engine as per work instructions.

• Assist the Senior Technician in repair, overhaul, reconditioning, testing and troubleshooting of machines, engines, ride on mower and assemblies according to manufacturer’s specifications and report any discrepancies to superior.

• Generate service reports for repairs per work instructions.

• Perform on-site repairs at customer sites where necessary.

• Perform good housekeeping, maintain cleanliness and upkeep of work area to ensure a neat, clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Possess a minimum GCE ‘N’ Level Certificate and NTC2/3 certification

• Has at least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in automotive industry or mechanical repair

• Electronics / Electrical works (circuit boards, wiring / cabling) experience

• Possess basic computer literacy (MS word, excel)

• Able to carry heavy load up to 15kg
