Our client, a leading quality food provider and wholesaler, is looking for an experienced leader to join their growing business as Head of Sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Management
- Lead the Sales team to manage highly professional business relationships with independent and group customers.
- Represent the company in the relevant chefs and industry associations playing an active role in supporting industry issues and young talent development.
- Represent the company in customer and industry events as appropriate.
Sales Targets
- In conjunction with the management team to identify the annual financial year sales & gross profit & budgets for the channels.
- Maintain the Sales team monthly targets reflecting the appropriate balance between achievable and motivating sales outcomes with a core focus on driving a strategic growth objective with profitability.
- Monitor customer responsibilities to ensure a balanced portfolio between teams with an appropriate commission objective for individuals and room to nurture customers alongside new business.
New Business Development
- Maintain a core team focus on basket growth to achieve additional product and categories in current customers.
- Engage closely with the Business Development and Procurement teams to grow sales in identified strategic brands and categories, ensuring that they have the relevant market intelligence, customer engagement and promotional execution from the sales team to ensure success.
- Be hands on alongside the sales team in development of strategic customer opportunities in identified channels, building on the existing supply chain to expand market coverage.
- Identify and grow new specialist channels as the industry develops.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Business Development team to deliver marketing programs that offer customers tangible value opportunities and drive increased sales.
Staff Management and Development
- Recruit new sales team members who have the required skills, an appetite to learn and enthusiasm for the contribution sales team make to the business.
- Identify the team behaviours, competencies and outcomes that contribute to success and support each team member to achieve these, reflected as the highest standards of service and support to the customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, or related disciplines
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Sales
- Experience in leading high performing sales team
- Proven sales experience in Food industry
- High competence in stakeholder management

- Location: West
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours
- Salary: Salary will commensurate according to experience & qualifications.
