The Role:
Avolon is appointing an Associate Vice President, Technical for a 12-month fixed term contract in our Singapore office reporting to the Head of Technical Transactions Asia Pacific and Middle East.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate LOI’s and Leases as part of our Deal Team structure and to project manage the transition of aircraft between Lessees.
- Possess the acute financial awareness to achieve favourable results, returns and outcomes for each and every asset.
- Maintain intimate knowledge of MRO networks, their capabilities and charging.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Lessees, MRO’s, OEM’s and Service Providers
- Have knowledge of new technology aircraft and engines as well as all asset classes owned or managed within the Avolon portfolios.
- Maintain a current knowledge and understanding of all geographical regulatory and technical airworthiness mandates and state of registry requirements.
- Have a proven track record for recovery of distressed assets in a professional and least disruptive, minimal cost manner.
- Have excellent skills and experience with regard to storage/parking and care and maintenance of aircraft.
- Disseminate industry information accurately and in a timely manner when required.
- Attend industry conferences and seminars as may be required.
- The role requires a willingness to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice
The Person:
The successful candidate will be an individual with strong interpersonal skills and have the experience and confidence to engage at all levels. Familiarity with aircraft leases and the transitioning of aircraft between Lessees is essential, as is a proven ability to find good compromise solutions to complex problems in a high-pressure environment. Recent experience in an Airline or MRO engineering environment would be advantageous. The successful candidate for this role will be capable of building strategic beneficial relationships, have a proven track record in the n transition of aircraft between Lessees.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Engineering Degree or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence.
- Aircraft leasing exposure, combined with experience of working within an Airline maintenance or MRO environment.
- Exposure to aircraft leases and the transitioning of aircraft from one Lessee.
- Strong people management, organisational and project management skills, demonstrated in previous roles.
- Excellent approach to relationship management and networking opportunities.
- Ability to identify critical issues quickly and work through to an effective solution under pressure within a tight timescale.
- Demonstrated ability to balance and manage conflicting requirements and goals both internally and externally.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
