Strong knowledge on Java 8, Core Java, Spring, Hibernate and restful web services including its data interchange format/definition such as XML,
Strong experience in distributed caching technologies like Apache Ignite or similar.
Familiar with different persistent storage technologies such as RDMS (Sybase, SQL Server or Oracle) and NoSQL.
Solid experience working with source code management tools – Git or Bitbucket

Good understanding of clean coding principles.

Good understanding of code quality measurements using tools like Sonar and able to implement design and implement unit, integration, and functional tests.
Must demonstrate strong familiarity of design patterns.

Required skills:
• Experience with the following technologies:
• Java (Core, JDBC, Collections, I/O), Spring Boot;
• Exposure to SQL/PL-SQL on Oracle DB
• Tomcat or Weblogic application server
• REST web services
• Unix commands and Korn shell scripting;
• Familiarity with standard data structures and algorithms;

Provide L3 technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provide hardware/software support and implement technology at the Database-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands.

• Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server server software and related products.
• Evaluate MSSQL features and MSSQL related products.
• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
• Maintain databases on a hybrid cloud setup (databases hosted on-premise, GCP, AWS and OCI)
• Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
• Database performance tunning and optimization.
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
• Plan growth and changes (capacity management planning).
• Work as part of a team and provide 24 * 7 support.
• Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams using Snowflake and Postgres
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning. (Creating and maintaining those Indexes, not performing database shrinking, memory settings, monitoring CPU usage and Disk I/O activity etc)
• Support TI & TELUS Database structure by enforcing and documenting Best practices.
• Interface with MSSQL for technical support.
• Must have SQL clustering installation troubleshooting skills.
• Must have SQL logshipping /mirroing / replication installation and troubleshooting skills.
• MSSQL DR drill executions and coordination’s.
• T-SQL scripting knowledge for automation tasks.
• ITIL Skill set requirement (Problem Management/Incident Management)

Academic qualifications and certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, information technology or relevant field
• Relevant certification, such as MCSE DBA, oracles associate or equivalent
• Relevant ITIL certification required

Experience required:
• Proven experience working as a Database Administrator
• Demonstrated experience with database backup and recovery best practices
• Demonstrated experience running and creating health assessment reports
• Demonstrated experience working with suppliers to deliver solutions
• Demonstrated experience in Oracle Enterprise
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL Server
• Demonstrated experience managing databases
• Proven experience in Database Design Principles, SQL Query Optimisation Techniques, Index Management, Integrity Checks, Statistics, and Isolation levels, with a focus on ensuring optimal performance
