Technical Accounting Oversight:
- Provide expert guidance on complex technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, assess their impact on the company, and implement necessary changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related matters arising from business transactions.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of technical accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the team's effectiveness in handling technical accounting challenges.
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to enhance the accuracy and completeness of financial disclosures.
Policy Development:
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with US GAAP and IFRS requirements.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the organization.
Audit Support:
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors for technical accounting queries.
- Assist in responses for any regulatory queries such as those from SEC.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Legal, and Operations, to address accounting implications of business initiatives.
- Provide technical accounting expertise to support decision-making processes.
Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions for finance and other relevant teams to enhance understanding of technical accounting principles.
- Stay informed about emerging accounting issues and communicate their potential impact to the organization.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of significant experience in technical accounting roles, with a strong focus on US GAAP and IFRS.
- Prior experience in a leadership or team management is essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
