Job Description

• Preparation of a full set of monthly management accounts, including journals, bank reconciliations, and reconciliation to sub-ledgers, on a timely basis.
• Maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable including payments, invoicing, receipts, reconciliation to creditors statements etc.
• Ensure receivable and payable balances are monitored and AR collected on time and cash flow needs are anticipated met.
• Banking functions - daily deposit of cash, payment to overseas suppliers etc.
• Maintain various accounting records including daily cashbook, on a timely basis.
• Fixed assets - maintaining and reconciling fixed asset register.
• Liaising with external auditors during audit.
• Maintaining good records of Export Permits.
• Key user for Financial Accounting in accounting system.
• To ensure that accounting records and reports prepared are in accordance with sound accounting practices, accounting and company policies.
• Compliance with all statutory reporting, filling and other requirements – corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory bodies and reconciling accounts
• Any other matters as directed by management.

Requirements

• Studying in Finance & Accounting, preferably CPA/ACCA/CIMA/MIA.
• At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Possess good time management skill and is able to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-starter, driven and committed.

• Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, assess their impact on the company, and implement necessary changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related matters arising from business transactions.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of technical accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the team's effectiveness in handling technical accounting challenges.

Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to enhance the accuracy and completeness of financial disclosures.

Policy Development:

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with US GAAP and IFRS requirements.
• Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the organization.

Audit Support:

• Act as a key liaison with external auditors for technical accounting queries.
• Assist in responses for any regulatory queries such as those from SEC.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Legal, and Operations, to address accounting implications of business initiatives.
• Provide technical accounting expertise to support decision-making processes.

Training and Development:

• Conduct training sessions for finance and other relevant teams to enhance understanding of technical accounting principles.
• Stay informed about emerging accounting issues and communicate their potential impact to the organization.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of significant experience in technical accounting roles, with a strong focus on US GAAP and IFRS.
• Prior experience in a leadership or team management is essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
