Design Manager/ Design Director (Interior Design)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (9am – 6pm)
Location: Kallang (Near to Lavender mrt)
Salary: $6,000 - $8,000

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of nine designers.
• Responsible for design and creativity on projects from concept design and space planning through to development and presentation, ensuring high quality outputs and creativity.
• Actively seek and share inspiration and reference from sources outside of the business to support creative design solutions.
• Produce concept work using hand sketches and a variety of digital and traditional media to a high standard whilst directing the work of other junior team members on the project.
• Produce and check drawing packages for schematic and detail design stages
• Assemble presentations using a variety of digital and traditional media, particularly power point.
• Attend client meetings alone or with the support of the project leader leading or contributing to client presentations.
• Competently source reference material and carry out research to ensure that materials and products are fit for purpose.
• A comprehensive knowledge of markets, our clients and their competitors.
• Establish and develop a strong working relationship with clients on allocated projects and identify project opportunities independently
• Contribute proactively to business development, pitches, proposal writing and presentations.
• Attend site visits independently and respond to any issues.
• Involve in site measurement, layout plan & selection of material used
• Leading project communication, including liaising with the design, clients, construction, supplier and contractors’ team and ensuring meetings are properly recorded.
• Prepare accurate and timely fee proposals for projects.
• Ensure successful delivery and completion of a project within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Proven knowledge of materials and their application.

Requirements:

• AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Sketch Up, Microsoft Office is a must
• At least 8 year(s) of working experience in Corporate Office Interior Design
• Team leading experience

- Work closely with the Managing Director on product/service quality and development initiatives and activities.

- Act as a key technical coordinator for clients with product/application related issues and concerns for on-going and completed projects.

- In-charge of quality control in mixing/tinting paints and matching customized decorative finishes/textures.

- Coordinate and submit regular testing of decorative finishes/paints to address compliance and composition issues.

- Collaborate and work with architects and designers to understand their specifications and endorse the company’s products/services.

- Build and implement method statements for internal/external decorative finishes’ applications and maintenance.

- In-charge for due diligence studies on recent market trends for decorative paints/finishes both locally and overseas.

- Develop intuitive product/service strategies to improve the company’s presence in the market.

- Attend to ad hoc projects assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

- Prior technical experience in decorative paints/finishes industry.

- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in Engineering and related field.

- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.

- Demonstrated business planning ability, innovated thinking and strong organizational skills.

- Excellent in problem solving skills, analytical skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.

- Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to paints/finishes/building materials industry.
