We are looking for a highly motivated and eloquent Application Chemist to join our team. The Application Chemist will be responsible for providing application support to customers, including troubleshooting and method development through client visits (together with the sales manager), emails and phone calls. The candidate would also be organizing and conducting seminars and trainings to clients on relevant topics.

To be successful as an Application Chemist, you should have a strong background in analytical chemistry with a keen eye for problem solving. A top Application Chemist should also be customer-centric with a strong interest in providing solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

· Providing technical support to clients including product recommendation and troubleshooting

· Conducting seminars and trainings to clients on client specific topics

· Assisting clients in method development and integrating our products into the process

· Develop catalogue of in-house chromatography consumables products

· Communicating and following-up with clients to ensure that their issues are addressed

· Answering potential clients' questions and sending additional information through email or in-person visits.

· Keeping up with product and service information and updates.

· Staying informed about competing products and services as well as latest market trends.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Science, majoring in Chemistry
• 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in analytical instruments, especially HPLC and gas chromatography
• Experience with general laboratory equipment
• Prior experience in application related roles is a plus
• Experience in chemistry software related to GC/HPLC/FT-IR/NMR is a plus
• Affinity for new technologies and laboratory equipment
• Strong interest in technical problem solving
• Exemplary communication skills - verbal, written and interpersonal
• High self-motivation, good planning, excellent organizational and coordination skills
• Effective team player

One of our European based MNC client is looking for an Application Chemist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide application formulation and field support to the Performance Coatings industry in the East Asia Pacific Region for different segments i.e. Automotive, Synthetic, Industrial and Fabric Coatings
• Perform day-to-day lab duties and conduct related applications testing in laboratory
• Assist R&D with new products development
• Maintain a well-organized lab and cleanliness of equipment, operate safely in laboratory environment by maintaining high level of SHE standard.
• Create good internal communications within Singapore team and global experts.

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering.
• Several years of working experience in coatings industry including coating formulation, properties testing and coating application process.
• Experience in soft substrates coating is an added advantage.
• Knowledge in polymer is an added advantage.
• After internal training finished able to work on multi projects independently (from start to technical approval by customer)
• Strong willingness to learn, proactive attitude, good interpersonal skills, creative thinking, analytical mindset, diligent and with a high level of tenacity.
