The Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for the initial support and maintenance of client network and security systems. This role entails 24x7 standby support, both onsite and remote troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and ensuring the implementation of security patches and firmware/software upgrades. The position is critical in ensuring SLA contractual obligations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, and hotfixes.
• Prepare and replace faulty hardware by configuring the replacement device with the same firmware/software and patches. This requires basic to intermediate configuration skills.
• Identify and resolve network and security issues promptly.
• Provide technical support to end-users and escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers.
• Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
• Ensure adherence to all client security and cyber hygiene policies.
• Respond to security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Participate in 24x7 rotational standby to provide uninterrupted support to clients, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Respond promptly to network and security incidents.
• Participate in incident response drills and post-incident reviews.
• Follow escalation processes and escalate issues to senior engineers when necessary.
• Conduct and maintain accurate and up-to-date preventive maintenance reports, as required by contractual obligations.
• Provide daily updates of incident tickets with accurate information.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers to document and maintain network and security procedures and SOPs.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in network and security support.
• Familiarity with hardware replacements and basic to intermediate configuration tasks.
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Proficiency in handling security patches, firmware updates, and vulnerability assessments.
• Basic understanding of incident management processes.
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 standby rotation.
