Requirements for IT Infrastructure Engineer (System Administration)

Responsibilities:

Working with a system infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation of the the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system.

The activities required to be performed shall include the following:

• Effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for on-premise environment and on Government on Commercial Cloud (GCC);
• Participation in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure;
• Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners;
• Accountable for the following systems:

1. Linux, Windows, UNIX (AIX), Virtualization systems
2. Middleware includes WebSphere Application Servers, WebSphere Message Queue
3. Backup software includes Veritas NetBackup, Tivoli Storage Manager, that support the IT infrastructure

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Recognised degree with a technical major such as engineering, data communications or computer science. Diploma holders with relevant experience and expertise will be considered;
• System Engineer certification in Linux and/or Microsoft including Virtualization and Cloud;
• Minimum 2 years system administration experience; and
• Knowledge and experience in Linux scripting, Vmware Virtualization, Middleware and Cloud (GCC as an advantage).

• Manage VMWare infrastructure, including virtual machines, clusters, and storage. Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal virtualization capabilities.

• Oversee the management and maintenance of NetApps storage systems, including provisioning, data backup, and disaster recovery processes

• Deploy and manage System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to monitor and manage our network infrastructure and ensure seamless software deployment and updates.

• Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory services, including user accounts, group policies (GPO), and domain controllers. Ensure secure and efficient access to network resources.

• Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.

• Provide operating guidance, training and troubleshooting documents to internal and external parties.

• Ensure the delivery of support in accordance to project’s SLA (Service Level Agreement)

• Gathering of logs/information requested from L3 for ticket resolution

• Responsible for daily monitoring of COTS infrastructure, documentation of technical processes and product configurations, ensuring proper operation of COTS products purchased by client and assist in recommending improvements

• To be able to attend to user on-site when required.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Electronics Engineering / Communication Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / IT

• Min 3 year's working experience as Infrastructure engineer and experienced in fronting customers

• Must be Singaporean due to sensitivity of Project

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, with a focus on VMWare, NetApps, SCOM, SCCM, and Microsoft Active Directory.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in coding or scripting languages such as bash, windows batch, powershell

• Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and security concepts.

• Familiarity with ITIL best practices and experience in IT service management would be a plus.

• Able to take after office hours standby duties of one week per month

• Responsible for daily monitoring of COTS infrastructure, documentation of technical processes and product configurations, ensuring proper operation of COTS products purchased by client and assist in recommending improvements

• Relevant certifications such as VMWare, NetApp, Microsoft MCSE, or other related certifications would be a plus.
