Responsibilities

This person is part of the team that’s building Financial Planning Platform (Nav Planner) to provide lifetime integrated financial experience to customers by raising financial literacy, providing nudges and delivering personalized solutions across the entire banking spectrum. This person is responsible for developing cutting-edge enterprise applications to support business initiatives in different regions, countries.

This role will work closely with the financial planning team to develop or enhance features in an agile environment based on requirements from the business team. This is a lead with hands-on role that requires a very strong candidate with good experience in software solution, design, a passion to code, test, and deliver with highest quality applications.

Requirements

• Excellent in Java programming,
• Excellent in developing micro services using Java/Springboot.
• Excellent in RDBMS (MariaDB, MySQL...). no-sql experience is a plus.
• Excellent in message queue systems especially Kafka.
• Excellent in application securities.
• Excellent in building reusable components/libs that can be shared across applications.
• Excellent knowledge on handling large scale systems in term of number of components/system integration & high load.
• Working experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)/OpenShift is a must.
• Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and documentation and communication skills.
• Good at troubleshooting, especially system performance tracing & improvement.
• Good understanding of full-stack developments.

• Develop and maintain cloud solutions using Go Lang and Python.

WHAT YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

• Proficiency in Go Lang and Python.
• Experience in developing cloud services.
• Willing to review source code created by others and propose how to make it more secure.
• Knowledge of software engineering principles (standard algorithms, data structures, multithreading, multiprocessing, web services, REST API)
• Experience with build and deployment technologies, CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket etc).
• Knowledge of secure software development practices (OWASP SAMM, NIST 800-64, ISO/IEC 27034 etc) would be a plus.
• Training and certifications in Secure Software Development, for example by SANS Institute, is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain the backend components of web applications.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Build and optimize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
• Implement APIs for third-party integrations and internal services.
• Participate in code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the application stack.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement features that enhance user experience.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in backend web development.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer, with a focus on web applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with database management systems, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL and web services.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with asynchronous operations or event-driven architectures is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Preferably has done Agile development or with relevant SCRUM related experience.
