About the Role:

As a Data Engineer, you’ll take full ownership of our data infrastructure overhaul, focusing on creating a reliable, scalable, and efficient data ecosystem. You’ll address tracking issues, implement robust data governance, and ensure seamless data flows between our Customer Data Platform (Segment), BigQuery, and downstream tools.

This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset to work closely with Product, Growth, and Engineering teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Review and resolve tracking inconsistencies, including issues with funnel analysis and data gaps.
• Audit the integration and configuration of Segment and BigQuery, ensuring accurate and complete data collection.
• Conduct a root cause analysis of past tracking issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Build, optimise, and document ETL pipelines to ensure accurate and reliable data flows.
• Enhance tracking schemas, event definitions, and data integration processes to support business needs.
• Collaborate with Product and Growth teams to create a unified tracking plan, ensuring alignment and consistency.
• Develop and enforce data governance standards, including naming conventions, event schemas, and processes for implementing tracking changes.
• Implement real-time monitoring and alerting systems to identify and resolve data anomalies proactively.
• Create robust processes for testing tracking updates in staging environments before production deployment.
• Provide training and documentation to key team members, enabling them to query and interpret data confidently.
• Evaluate and optimise existing tools like BigQuery and Segment for scalability and evolving business needs.
• Design solutions to accommodate new product features, platforms, and growth initiatives without disrupting existing data flows.

Who You Are:

• Strong expertise in data engineering, with a focus on BigQuery and Segment.
• Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and ETL pipeline development.
• Knowledge of event tracking best practices, including debugging and optimisation for marketing funnels.
• Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as dbt or Apache Airflow.
• Strong understanding of data governance and quality assurance practices.

Job Description

KKH is an 830-bed tertiary-level care hospital that provides obstetric, gynaecological, paediatric and other services. It is part of the SingHealth group of public hospitals. As an academic medical centre, KKH is a teaching hospital for Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Clinical- Service

1. To provide direct patient care.

2. To participate and/or organize team/modular patient care.

3. To supervise junior staff in clinical care.

4. To teach undergraduates and postgraduate trainees.

5. To provide CME programmes for general practitioners, specialists and sub-specialists.

Accountability- each staff will:

1. Be accountable to his/her clinical head.

2. Conform to the appropriate standard of medical and clinical service quality within the Unit/Service.

3. Facilitate and assist the Head of Department, Division Chairman and CMB with the Unit/Service’s perspective in the following:Making recommendations and giving appropriate input with respect to policy and management issues relating to the practice and development of medicine and medical services.
Medical Teaching, Training, Continuing Medical Education and Research activities.
4. To undertake the routine functions of the Unit/Service.

Administrative

To facilitate and assist the Head of Service, Head of Department, Division Chairman and CMB with the Unit/Service’s perspectives in the following:

Clinical Service Development

1. To carry out the development and execution of the work plans.

2. To optimise the utilisation of allocated resources.

3. To assist in the planning of the annual operating budgets within the resources provided.

Manpower Planning and Performance Management

1. To be committed to his/her duties, work as a team with colleagues and perform to the best of his/her abilities.

2. To fulfil the roles of the Unit/Services.

3. To provide his/her supervisor continual factual and qualitative information for the purpose of performance management.

4. To play an active role as a member/chairperson in the hospital/national level committee.

• M.B.B.S. or equivalent basic medical degree
• Recognised relevant post-graduate qualification by Singapore Medical Council
• Exited specialist training

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications: PhD/master/degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–3 years of relevant work experience in AI development or data engineering.
• Expertise in AWS or RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) tools.
• Proficient in SQL and familiar with the use SQL Server.
• Familiar with the use, design, and implementation of RESTful APIs.
