Functional Description

Decision Science colleagues will serve as a key member of the Credit and Fraud Risk organization. Functional Description

Decision Science colleagues will serve as a key member of the Credit and Fraud Risk organization. We seek a thought-leader and a problem-solver who can blend business, technical, and industry best practices when it comes to developing the analyses, models, and algorithms that power our customers’ digital experiences.

This team is responsible for developing, implementing, and tracking AI/ML models for driving enterprise digital personalization in prospect marketing and automating data capability and model governance.

Our Decision Science teams use industry leading modeling and AI practices to predict customer behavior. We develop, deploy and validate predictive models and support the use of models in economic logic to enable profitable decisions across credit, fraud, marketing and servicing optimization engines.

The role will entail some of the below listed responsibilities:

• Work with massive amounts of digital data (Web, App, API) and sophisticated tools in an industry leading Big Data environment.
• Build everything from basic reports to advanced machine learning models and algos to drive improvements to our customer’s online and mobile app experiences.
• Work with product owners to revolutionize the product and content design with a data-driven approach
• Collaborate with tech partners to test, implement and deploy modeling solutions to production system.
• Develop insights into customer behavior and introduce new approaches to transform complex behavioral data into actionable information
• Leverage the power of closed loop through Amex network to make decisions more intelligent and relevant
• Innovate with a focus on developing newer and better approaches using big data & machine learning solution

Minimum qualifications and skills required across role types are highlighted below:

• Masters/PhDs in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Operation Research etc.) with hands-on experience leveraging sophisticated analytical and machine learning techniques.
• Expertise in an analytical language (Python, R or the equivalent), and experience with databases (Hive, SQL, or the equivalent). Knowledge of SAS is a plus but not required.
• Deep understanding of machine learning/statistical algorithms such as deep learning and boosting. Experience with data visualization is a plus
• Minimum 1 year of experience in marketing modeling
• Demonstrated ability to frame business problems into mathematical programming problems, leverage external thinking and tools (from academia and/or other industries) to engineer a solution and deliver business insights
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Independent thinker who’s organized, has great attention to detail, and can multi-task
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently with sophisticated, unstructured initiative

Tyco Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd (TE Connectivity) is looking for an R&D Manager to join our Corporate R&D Center. The manager will lead the newly formed Artificial Intelligence team to create an AI Hub for TE in Singapore. Team members will collaborate with R&D peers, business unit partners as well as local university and government research centers to undertake projects that will embed AI in TE’s design and process development work flows to deliver a competitive advantage to TE’s technologies. This position is based at our Singapore HQ.

The Singapore Corporate R&D Center is chartered to work with the CTO’s and Advanced Development Groups of TE Business Units to identify technical areas of interest for R&D and develop forward looking technologies that will deliver broad value to the business. To improve the New Product Development process, TE is expanding our Artificial Intelligence capabilities as a part of our Digitalization strategy to improve efficiency, decrease cost, and decrease time to market.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the AI team that deliver high quality data science solutions and AI/ML infrastructure to support new product development (NPD) in TE
• Lead the team to adopt cutting-edge data science techniques (using in-house coding tools or commercial software) and develop machine learning algorithms to solve engineering problems (such as material formulation, manufacturing process, product design, etc.) based on experimental and simulation data sets.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline specialists in data science, electronics, material science, mechanics, additive manufacturing, and other fields.
• Work with local and global TE sites, and external customers/vendors, to address urgent or strategic needs.
• Partner with Singapore research institutes and universities to develop advanced AI techniques.
• Develop and execute the roadmap and strategy of AI
• Manage portfolio of projects to drive completion of tasks and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results that reduce cost, speed time to market and increase quality.
• Enhance the awareness across TE of the AI capabilities of the Singapore AI Hub and promote the democratization of AI in TE at the enterprise scale.

Job Requirements:

Required:

• Proven track record of team management and technical leadership
• Proven experience of solving engineering problems with AI, data science and machine learning
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering (or related discipline) with 10 years working experience in product development or R&D
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and ability to delegate where appropriate and keep resources aligned with critical priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills with interpersonal skills to work with multiple level and multi-discipline stake holders.
• Project management expertise, PMP Certification Preferred

Preferred:

• Familiarity with product design, material development and Additive Manufacturing
• Knowledge of TE’s business, products, material, and manufacturing processes (molding, extrusion, plating, stamping, assembly etc.)
• Broad knowledge of polymer and metal material properties (mechanical, electric, thermal etc.)
• Hands-on experience of data science and machine learning algorithms involving multiple data types
• Programming skill in Python, C++, Java or similar languages

RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position is for College of Integrative Studies / IPCC Working Group II Technical Support Unit (CIS)
• Coordinate and oversee science-related aspects of the TSU.
• Manage the scientific support for the Working Group II activities and products during the Seventh Assessment cycle.
• Develop and manage processes for scoping, preparation, review, and completion of reports.
• Collaborate closely with Working Group II Co-Chairs and Bureau to shape and guide scientific aspects of assessments.
• Support the development of summary products such as the Summary for Policymakers and Technical Summary, as well as the Synthesis Report.
• Coordinate scientific contributions to Working Group II meetings and sessions.
• Supervise scientific staff in the Working Group II TSUs.
• Maintain communication and collaboration with Heads of Science from other TSUs.

• PhD in climate- or environmental-science related field, preferably in the following fields: climate change impacts, climate adaptation, environmental modelling, socio-economic system analysis; and at least 10 years of work experience in the abovementioned or related fields.
• Scientific publications in refereed journals.
• Experience leading a multi-cultural science team;
• working on international projects;
• scientific report writing and editing.
• Ability to develop, plan and execute complex multi-task workloads.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and capability to interact with international science community.
