NIE invites applications for the Technical Specialist position in the Physical Education & Sports Science Academic Group (PESS AG). This is a 2-year contract post.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient running of all sports facilities.
• Oversee safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all sports facilities, e.g., risk assessment, incident reporting, etc.
• Oversee all bookings of sports facilities for classes and recreational use, including billings for the usage of facilities by external organisations.
• Assist to ensure general cleanliness of all sports facilities.
• Assist to obtain quotations for procurement of sports facilities maintenance contracts and equipment.
• On-site supervision of maintenance works.
• Assist faculty members to set up sports equipment for classes.
• Provide logistics support for sports-related events.
• Assist in the setting up of equipment at individual stations for physical proficiency tests.
• Perform regular inspection of sports facilities to ensure that users adhere to rules and regulations and to inform supervisor in the event when faulty equipment is spotted.
• Conduct briefing for visitors to PESS sports facilities.
• Conduct safety briefing for users of PESS sports facilities.
• Opening and locking of all sports facilities when on duty.
• Perform counter duties such as issuing of equipment and booking of facilities.
• Perform inspection of fitness rooms particularly during peak hours’ usage.
• Perform first aid duties in the event of injuries.
• Perform any other duties assigned by PESS management.

Requirements

• A Polytechnic Diploma in Sport Management, Exercise or Sports Science or other relevant qualifications.
• Relevant experience in handling and managing sporting equipment/facilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes.
• Experience in life-saving with a valid Bronze Medallion Certificate would be an advantage.
• Training in First Aid & AED would be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Able to perform shift work. (Working hours: Morning shift: 8am to 5.15pm, Afternoon shift: 12.45pm to 10pm)

Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, this role is responsible for delivering technical training to technicians as well as support teams.
• Provides subject matter expertise for technical training, assesses employee technical skill needs and assists in the as-needed adaptation of training program materials, ensuring training content aligns appropriately to requirements.
• The Technical Instructor is responsible for supporting the instructional design process, including design/redesign of internal training courses and its execution
• Conducts assessment of course objectives vs. student performance to ensure quality of training
• Supports the various SME’s in shop floor OJT to untraining technicians in the work center.

Requirements:

• Diploma holder and at least 6+ years of experience in oil and gas
• Familiar with overhead crane operations
• Must be Soldering IPC J-STD-001 CIT certified

Job Summary

The Sports Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Tasek's Football programme for children and youth. They must work collaboratively with coaches, youth workers, volunteers, and other stakeholders to create a nurturing environment for all players, aligning the programme to Tasek’s mission of mentoring beneficiaries holistically.

Key Responsibilities

a) Programme Development: Create developmental pathways and seek out competition opportunities for different player groups, coordinate weekly training and match sessions, handle programme admin and logistics, build character education into programme structure, and collaborate with youth workers to grow programme's mentoring arm.

b) Coach and Volunteer Management: Orientate coaches and volunteers to programme, ensuring they have the necessary understanding of our sporting, educational and social objectives.

c) Participant Management: Ensure participant safety and wellbeing, manage dynamics between participants, and maintain a good balance of participants of different profiles.

d) Facilities & Equipment Management: Oversee the booking and use of facilities, stocking of necessary equipment, team jerseys and other physical resources.

e) Financial Management: Develop and manage the programme budget, ensuring all expenses have been approved and accounted for.

f) Marketing and Promotion: Develop marketing materials such as flyers and sign-up forms to promote the programme to potential participants, parents, and community organisations, and write proposals to secure funding and sponsorships for the programme.

g) Other Responsibilities: Assist with other events or projects as required, and represent the organisation at community events or conferences.

Pre-requisite

● A Degree or Diploma in fields such as sports science / management, education, outdoor & adventure, psychology, youth work, social work, and communications, or A-Levels.

● Played Football competitively at the school or youth level

● Possess good communication and interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively with coaches, youth workers, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

● Committed to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children & youth.

● Experience working with children and youth in a social service agency or community setting is desirable.

● Flexibility to work on weekends.
