As the Manager of Software Implementation & Vessel Performance, your pivotal role within the technical department revolves around ensuring the successful implementation of new Ship Management Software across all ships and shore offices. Your primary responsibility lies in providing comprehensive training to all company employees, including both shore and ship staff, enabling them to proficiently utilize the various modules and functions of the Ship Management Software.

Furthermore, you will actively work to decrease overall energy consumption on board vessels through a range of measures. These measures encompass monitoring the hull condition, conducting regular follow-ups with vessels to optimize fuel consumption of various machineries on board. Additionally, you will actively engage with various class and flags for the submission of crucial data, such as IMO DCS, EU MRV, etc., in compliance with relevant regulations. Training and Implementation of Ship Management software:

• Experience in application development using the following technologies and programming languages such as Mobile, web, object-oriented programming, SQL, Java, JavaScript.
• Experience in Project Management and is able to manage user expectation and deliver within project timeline
• Experience/knowledge in Scrum /DevOps concepts
• Experience/knowledge in the various technologies supporting CI/CD such as GitLab, Confluence, JIRA, SonarQube
• Experience/Knowledge in Cloud, microservices architecture and container technologies such Docker, Kubernetes
• To have a keen interesting in IT / programming / system designs
• Good understanding of SDLC
• Secure coding to prevent application vulnerabilities (for eg. Cross-site scripting; Injection vulnerability flows such as SQL injection, command injection; Race conditions; Improper error / exception handling etc)
• Application integration with government services such as CorPass, SingPass.
• A Pass in ICT Assessment Certification for Solution Architect or Software Developer by NUS-ISS is a plus

• Technology Scouting: Source and evaluate new technologies that can boost revenue for Consumer Care and Life Sciences divisions.

• Grant Management: Liaise with Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) and A*STAR to secure grants, managing the entire process meticulously.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years experiences in Open Innovation or New Technology Projects within chemical or life sciences industry
• Education: Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology related field 
• Passion for Innovation: Demonstrated enthusiasm for new technologies and sustainability.
• Networking Skills: Proven ability to network and influence, with comfort in meeting new people and forging industry connections.
