We are looking for an individual to join us as a Infrastructure Engineer. This role will be supporting one of our projects with Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). You will plan, implement and manage the following IT infrastructure to support the digitalisation requirements of the organisation and the maritime community:
- Network Administration
- Compliance to requirements for IT infrastructure, cyber-security and critical systems.
A brief summary of your job responsibility:
- Possess in-depth knowledge and technical skill maintaining, administering, configuring networks firewalls, routers, switches, Network Access Control (NAC) and load balances appliances.
- Understand enterprise firewalls, routing and switching topology with ability to maximise network efficiency and security
- Manage vendors and sub-contractors to carry out network configuration, administer network tools and provide network reports and statistics where needed
- Work with infrastructure manager to provide advice and solution to application teams in system and application rollout.
- Expand and modernise our current network to support the expanding scope of digital MPA services
- Implement and support the network infrastructure for MPA IT application migration into new servers and Government Commercial Cloud (GCC))
- Streamline and automate existing processes to cut down manual work and ensure better compliance to GovTech IM8 and AIISA audits, and CSA CCOP Audit for CII systems
- Perform network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Plan and implement network upgrades and patches to the latest version.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification or equivalent.
- CCNP Enterprise or CCNP or Data Centre certification will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto firewall and data centre network products in a sizeable enterprise deployment.
- Experience in network automation and network management platform will be an added advantage.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, function and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Be prepared to work in a team providing 24x7 network support.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good to have:
- Proficiency in cellular mobile access network technologies (3G/4G/5G).
- Proficiency in DWDM technologies, optical networking and components involved.
