As Legal Counsel of AIC, your work will complement those of the Business Divisions and Corporate Functions in sector planning and integration, as well as client engagement and services development. Your work protects the legal interests of AIC, and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the making of informed decisions that best serve the Company’s vision and mission to transform Singapore’s community care landscape!
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will manage the legal affairs of AIC and advise on all the legal aspects arising from the transactions that the Company undertakes, including but not limited to the provision of legal support and services to the Business Divisions and Corporate Functions in their projects and programmes, so as to ensure the legal effectiveness and regulatory compliance of all of AIC’s policies and processes.
Legal Advice
- Provide legal advice on the transactions that AIC undertakes.
- Provide legal advice on issues encountered by or affecting AIC such as those arising from contract, tort, intellectual property, etc.
- Draft/vet contracts and other documents such as letters of award, grants, tenders, leases, licences, IT contracts, sponsorship agreements, data sharing agreements, memoranda of understanding, etc.
- Tend to legal issues arising from post-contractual administration.
Legal Policy Advice
- Provide legal policy advice on all AIC policies and processes (including its HR and other corporate policies).
- Provide legal policy advice on selected AIC communique and dealings with members of the public.
Legal Training
- Provide legal training so as to advance legal education and knowledge sharing in AIC during the course of in-house legal consultations, as well as in the provision of legal and legal policy advice.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Law from NUS, SMU, SUSS or scheduled universities under the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules. Entry level candidates are also welcome to apply
- Admitted to the Singapore Bar
- A 1-year post-qualification experience will be advantageous (but not crucial)
- Self-motivated, collaborative and adaptable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and interact with stakeholders
- Working knowledge of corporate secretarial roles and functions is a bonus (although not essential)
