Job Responsibilities:
- Offer strategic legal counsel and guidance to Management and various business units on a range of legal and compliance aspects, encompassing insurance law, corporate governance, employment law, intellectual property, data protection, and litigation.
- Function as the company's Data Protection Officer, ensuring adherence to internal approvals, corporate governance, and compliance requirements.
- Develop and refine policies and procedures in alignment with business objectives.
- Support external and internal audit activities, ensuring conformity with legal and regulatory standards.
- Implement effective risk management strategies and provide proactive advice on potential legal issues.
- Execute protocols for safeguarding patents, trademarks, etc.
- Provide clarity on legal language or specifications for all members of the organization.
- Offer guidance and assistance with annual statutory and regulatory compliance obligations in Singapore.
- Prepare resolutions for board and shareholders, attend meetings, and draft minutes.
- Advise on, prepare, and submit annual returns and other necessary filings with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore (ACRA).
- Engage and oversee external legal counsel when required.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Law or J.D. degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Profound understanding of insurance laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks in Singapore.
- Strong skills in business partnering, collaborator management, and a keen interest in comprehending the overall business.
- Proficiency in arbitration and mediation.
- In-depth knowledge of administrative law and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
