To ensure guests would feel safe and secure in our hotel, appropriate security levels necessary. As Assistant Security Manager, you’ll be implementing safety and security policies in accordance with IHG standards – emphasizing to remain alert at all times to team members. By allowing guests to feel safe, it would encourage repeat visits. You will assist in the security operations and ensure there are enough coverage from Security Team to manage activities in the hotel.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Report to Manager all hotel property deficiencies and safety or security hazards
• Monitor staff clocking on and off duty
• Conduct regular locker checks with Human Resources
• Conduct trainings for security officers, hotel colleagues and random checks of key registers in various departments in the hotel and report on discrepancies
• Check all packages and passes of employees entering and leaving the building
• Manage team including training, coaching, counselling, disciplining, quarterly check-in, yearly review etc.
• Identify & train talents for promotion
• Liaising and contacting vendors
• Administer efficient roster planning and scheduling
• Responsible for the safety and security of guests and employees
• Implement procedures and initiate action immediately for security and emergency incidents
• Be thoroughly familiar with and guided by hotel’s emergency plan in any case of fire outbreak
• Maintain a vigil 24 hour surveillance on areas frequented by guests and all work areas
• Ensure no undesirables loiter in or around the hotel premises
• Prevent gambling and sabotage on hotel premises
• Assist superior in the preparation and management of the department’s budget and is aware of financial targets
• Liaise with other departments for security matters whenever necessary

What we need from you?

• Minimum ‘O’ Levels or equivalent
• Security License and relevant WSQ Training Certificate
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience

(A) Specific :

• Involve in Housing & Development Board (HDB) upgrading projects.

• Plan and launch public relations programs such as preparing circulars, letters, and notices.

• Conduct a survey on the condition of flats, spalling concrete ceiling leakage, etc. as well as take measurements.

• Plan and coordinate works to be carried out within the flats timely.

• Handle inquiries, feedback, and complaints on the projects as well as follow up on actions to resolve it.

• Work closely and ensure smooth operation procedures during upgrading work between the relevant parties such as residents, contractors, consultants, and authorities like the Town Councils and Housing Development Board (HDB), etc. as well as take proactive measures in mitigating complaints arising from the construction activities.

• Attend and provide administrative assistance and logistic support in Construction Working Committee meetings, as and when directed by the SO Representative.

• Show, explain, and demonstrate to residents the location and purpose of Enhancement For Active Senior (EASE) retrofits provisions.

• Maintain good rapport and positive relations with the residents.

• Conduct regular visits to residents/tenants affected by the works to gather feedback and keep them posted on the work schedule’s changes and impacts.

(B) General :

• Coordinate and work with other departments and vendors as well as relevant authorities.

• Maintain proper documents and files according to the Client’s requirements.

• Other duties as assigned.

(C) Safety:

• To follow the Company safety procedures, rules, and regulations to eliminate or reduce hazards at the workplace.

Job Requirements

(A) Education, Qualifications & Special Training :

• GCE ‘O’ Level and above with at least 1 year of public relations work experience

• Job holders without the above qualification but with relevant experience would be considered.

(B) Knowledge & Skills :

• Certificate of Attendance in fall prevention or equivalent training session organized by an approved Healthcare Service Provider / Professional Occupational Therapist specializing in Geriatrics or eldercare.

• General understanding of HDB upgrading work.

• A good team player and willing to be stationed at the site office.

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).

• PC literate and knowledge in MS Office.

• Positive and good working attitude, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

• Willing to learn, and is neat and tidy.

(C) Experience :

Preferably to have working experience on past HDB projects or experience in Building Construction Industry.
