Job description

The chosen candidate will be a Senior Business Analyst, part of Finance Platform project team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing and evaluating business processes, systems, and requirements and work towards rebuilding it within the new module.

The Business Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document requirements, analyze data, and brainstorm + recommend solutions to enhance business functionalities and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough analysis of business processes, systems, and requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.

2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of project strategies and objectives.

3. Create, Groom and maintain Business Requirements / User stories, Data models and Data flow, Functional Specifications to effectively communicate business requirements to development teams.

4. Perform data analysis to extract valuable insights, identify trends, and support informed decision-making.

5. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that solutions align with business requirements and are delivered within established timelines.

6. Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to elicit and validate requirements, and to address concerns and questions.

7. Develop and execute test plans to ensure that delivered solutions meet specified requirements and quality standards.

8. Assist in change management activities, including communication, training, and support, to ensure a smooth transition during the implementation of changes.

9. Monitor and assess the performance of implemented solutions, and recommend further optimizations as needed.

10. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement and proposing innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or) Accounting (or) Information Technology, (or) related field.

· Proven experience around 8-12 years as a Business Analyst in a similar role is strongly required.

· Conversant with Agile practices and methodologies. Exposure to JIRA and Confluence is strongly required.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

· Experience with data analysis tools and techniques.

· Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Job Responsibilities

The chosen candidate will be a key point of contact for all business queries on data usage of the application as well as ensure that the business design of the application conforms to the overall strategy of the organization – i.e. end to end automation & standardization.

The broad job accountabilities of the chosen candidate would be as follows:

1. Leverage on data analytics knowledge & experience to facilitate to uncover the data breaks.

2. Go through daily reconciliation report or schedule query via database to identify anomalies and discrepancies, find out root cause and implement corrective measures.

3. Oversee and responsible for ensuring data quality and fitness for purpose of data assets.

4. Able to articulate clearly the problem statement observed after investigation of the data breaks.

5. Monitor & engage in the ongoing and detailed evaluation & trending of data quality.

6. Ensuring data integrity, assess and improve data quality, oversee data from cradle to grave and remediate data quality issue.

7. Collate, manage, rationalise, associated with technology team to support in impact assessment, fix data quality issue, UAT and support implementation and live verification.

8. Actively partnering with the technology team in the solutioning process to ensure that the business solutions being implemented are thought through from a long term, standardization, design for no operations, front-end configuration perspective.

Requirements

1. Degree in Banking/Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines.

2. Self-driven with strong analytical, highly numerate, proactive, problem solving, communication (verbal and written), good interpersonal and organizational skills

3. Driven/passionate, self-starter, highly competent and able to work independently

4. Ability to work in a team consisting of stakeholders from different areas including user community from requirements gathering and testing perspective, technology teams from a development, rollout perspective.

5. Eye for detail and diligence in documentation. Well versed in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word/ Office 365 applications

6. Prior experience of working in a banking industry would be preferred

7. With at least 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably with data management and analytics in the banking industry

8. MUST have basic SQL knowledge, and keen and good in data investigation, communication skill with stakeholder, and manage mini project.

The chosen candidate will be a Business Analyst Handling Finance & business projects/BAU enhancements/queries on Building & usage of the applications/ensure that the business design of the application conforms to the overall strategy of the organization – i.e. end to end automation / standardization etc.

Key Accountabilities

1. Key focal point for all functional activities related to building of new Finance module as part of the multi-year Finance architecture program.

2. Document requirements using Agile User Story formats and work with technology team to groom the user requirements

3. Work with technology / end users to come up with a well thought through solution.

4. On completion of the build, test the solution and release it for user testing and signoff. Upon Singoff plan for production migration.

5. Document functionality and work through processes for sustainably managing the platform in BAU.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Be key focal point to front all User+Technology related queries in building the new module build.

2. Track all new change requests that are assigned to new module’s Backlog and bring it to prioritization forum.

3. Manage book of work with the Middle Office Technology teams – both in terms of bringing items for discussion during bi-monthly prioritization forum and tracking it for delivery and closure.

4. Participate in Build and test phase for the new module + handle regressing testing in BAU, representing Group Finance Platform.

5. Act as an interface between Technology and Business teams in terms of delivery timelines, development statuses, user clarifications, clear bottlenecks, obtain user signoffs.

6. Keep a close tab of all enhancements/minor projects that are concurrently running in terms of timelines and statues.

7. Timely escalation of any potential bottleneck / delay to Reference Data SME / Hub Lead.

Experience:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role in Finance projects performing analysis/testing/implementation.

2. Prior experience in working in banks or financial institution of similar nature will be an added advantage.
