The role:
We are looking for a capable Project Manager to support the transition of key business applications to a new platform. In this role, you will focus on overseeing the smooth transition of on-premise applications to AWS cloud infrastructure. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure effective monitoring, performance management, and optimization throughout the migration process and in the post-migration environment. Your operational expertise will be crucial in maintaining system stability, improving efficiency, and ensuring continuous service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the migration, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to business processes.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and resource utilization on AWS, ensuring that the infrastructure operates efficiently.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, working closely with technical teams to resolve problems promptly.
2. Operational Support and Incident Management:
- Provide ongoing support during and after the migration, responding to operational incidents and resolving issues that impact system performance.
- Implement proactive monitoring strategies using AWS tools (CloudWatch, SNS) to detect potential issues early and ensure system uptime.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for any operational failures and work on remediation strategies to prevent recurrence.
3. Operational Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed operational documentation, including runbooks, operational workflows, and issue resolution guides.
- Provide regular reports on system health, performance metrics, and any deviations from normal operation to stakeholders and project teams.
- Document lessons learned from operational incidents to improve future processes.
4. Process Optimization and Automation:
- Identify areas of operational inefficiency and propose solutions to optimize AWS resource usage and cost.
- Develop automation strategies to streamline recurring tasks and reduce manual intervention (e.g., autoscaling, automated backups).
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, ensuring they align with best practices for cloud operations.
5. Risk and Contingency Planning:
- Assess operational risks related to the migration and ongoing performance of the AWS environment.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Design contingency plans for handling operational failures or performance degradation.
6. System Testing and Validation from an Operational Perspective:
- Support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) from an operational viewpoint, ensuring all necessary resources are available and optimized.
- Collaborate with teams to validate that the system can handle operational loads and peak performance demands in the AWS environment.
7. Training and Knowledge Transfer:
- Assist i training operational teams and end-users on AWS infrastructure, operational procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure smooth knowledge transfer and handover of operational procedures to stakeholders and support teams.

Educational Qualification :
