The role:

The Southeast Asia Business Exchange (SEABX) initiative was announced by the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum in Jakarta on 6 September as part of Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. The strategy, developed by Special Envoy for Southeast Asia, Mr Nicholas Moore AO, sets out a practical pathway to increase Australia’s two-way trade and investment with Southeast Asia.

SEABX will help Australian businesses amplify their trade growth in the region.

As part of the SEABX program, Austrade is looking for an experienced Business Development Director (BDD) to join the team in Singapore. The SEABX BDD will work with colleagues in Singapore, Australia, and across the region to:

• Drive awareness amongst Australian businesses of the opportunities in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry bodies, business councils, and chambers.
• Lead or support large, impactful trade missions to Singapore and work with teams in Australia to recruit suitable Australian businesses.
• Perform and coordinate aftercare services for participants in business missions in collaboration with our regional network.
• Work with the team in Australia to connect with the Southeast Asian business community in Australia.

Duties include:

• Implement SEABX strategies in Singapore across priority sectors by developing and managing relevant initiatives including missions and business-matching activities.
• Work with existing BDMs responsible for green economy, health and medtech, and digital technologies to advance Australian market priorities.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with Australian and Singaporean businesses and other stakeholders.
• Deliver high quality and professional services to eligible Australian businesses including Austrade’s market-specific advice, connection, and support services.
• Undertake market research and analysis to identify market trends for existing and emerging business opportunities for Australian companies across industry sectors.
• Work collaboratively within the Austrade network to contribute to service delivery and achieve trade outcomes and uphold the Australian Public Service (APS) Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct and Work Health & Safety (WHS) principles.

Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
• Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in Singapore, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in Singapore the time of appointment.
• Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English.
• Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the
role.

Position Offered

This is a temporary project-based position, Project Coordinator (LE4), for three months (extendable depending on the project requirements) to onboard a new Contacts and Events system for the Australian High Commission.

The Australian High Commission Singapore is looking for someone to manage the migration of contacts data from a range of sources onto a new Salesforce based contacts and events system.

The position will be responsible for migrating data to the new system and consolidating the database, learning how to use it (training and support will be provided), then in turn sharing, training and documenting this for other key users across the High Commission.

Job Description

• Cleanse, update and migrate data from the existing contact lists into the new system.
• Work closely with the Australia team regarding the migration and functionality of the new system.
• Work with internal stakeholders at post to identify business needs and use of the new system.
• Become a master user of the system, with the ability to maintain, add and remove contacts and create invitations and events.
• Undertake the role of a trainer and system.
• Create SOPs on the regular system maintenance.
• Any ad-hoc duties as per assigned

Requirements

• Strong IT skills with demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office, particularly in Outlook, Word and Excel (Vlookup & Pivot Table), and data manipulation.
• Is detail-oriented and able to handle a range of inputs and large database.
• Independent, good organisational skills and ability to work with limited direction.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, a team player and able to manage and share information within the workplace.
• Sound judgement, including an ability to develop and interpret policies, guidelines, regulations, and other relevant material.
• Experience in Salesforce is not required, training will be provided on how to use this system.
• Able to start in short notice.

The High Commission will establish a Selection Advisory Committee (SAC) to assess applications, conduct interviews, check referees, and prepare a report for the delegate recommending the most suitable candidate.

Applicants should carefully select two referees who can speak in detail regarding their skills and suitability for the role.
