Planning and Scheduling Engineer III (Project Advisor/ Oil & Gas)

Our client is a leading oil and gas company and a key player in the energy sector operating one of the largest integrated refining and petrochemical complexes in the world .

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Utilize project data to identify risks and opportunities for the project based on trends and analysis.
• Present clear and precise reports on key focus areas to support management decision-making efforts.
• Identify and resolve misalignments in the data received from various sources in the project.
• Utilize available data to ensure key components of the project are aligned to deliver a successful outcome.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verify data received from various sources e.g., HVEC’s, procurement, and fabrication yards to ensure all are aligned to deliver the desired outcome on the project.
• Analyze project data to identify risks and opportunities for the project and communicate the same to relevant stakeholders through research and trends.
• Coordinate and interface with various project stakeholders including client to timely identify the issues and concerns and their impacts on the project's overall schedule.
• Review the weekly and monthly project progress reports and make changes as necessary after alignment with the client to make it impactful for the management.
• Actively participates in the leadership team strategic meetings to provide inputs to the management to make informed decisions in favor of the project.
• Guide and provide direction to the planning team to ensure the focus remains on the right issues.
• Close coordination with the data analysis team to identify and present various project data in visualization format for easy understanding and utilization.
• Assisting project control manager in preparing presentations for sponsor and leadership level management meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management
• Experience in project controls w/a focus on planning and schedule control
• Willing to work overseas in a team environment
• Willing to relocate to required project site
• Willing to work OT

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain the SDLC project management delivery framework, including the development of policies, standards, guidelines, processes, and best practices.
• Conduct governance and compliance check to ensure Project Managers adhere to the established project management model.
• Conduct project reviews and assessments from project initiation to deployment, providing feedback and recommendation to project teams.
• Perform QA reviews to ensure the required project artifacts are complete and meet acceptable standards in terms of depth of coverage.
• Facilitate project and quality-related discussions, formalize agreements, and follow up on agreed actions.
• Provide operational support as needed.
• Continuously improve project governance processes and practices based on lessons learned and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of project management experience, having completed several full SDLC projects from initiation to closure.
• Formal training in project management such as PMP or PRINCE2 with excellent knowledge of project delivery, documentation, and the content and expectation regarding project artifacts.
• Good understanding of Quality Assurance and Controls, with the ability to independently conduct reviews, inspections, assessments, and provide recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Take a forensic approach to uncover project issues at each quality gate checks through evidence gathered.
• Able to dive into the precise facts and details to see what the project managers are missing.
• Confident to conduct presentation and adept at stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Experience in project audit, governance, and compliance is a plus.
