Assistant Manager, Business Development is a pivotal role within our sales team, responsible for driving growth by identifying and pursuing sales leads, presenting our products/services to potential clients, and fostering strong relationships with new contacts. The incumbent will play a crucial role in client retention by effectively communicating new developments and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. In addition, the Assistant Manager will oversee the creation and evolution of marketing literature to support our business development efforts.
The Assistant Manager, Business Development also responds to RFP's, tenders, and develops sales in new sales territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and research potential sales leads through various channels, including online research, industry events, and networking.
- Qualify leads based on defined criteria and prioritize opportunities with the greatest potential for business growth.
- Initiate contact with potential clients, engaging in effective communication to understand their needs and present our products/services as solutions.
- Conduct compelling and persuasive sales presentations, tailored to the specific needs of each client.
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders to establish a strong rapport.
- Work closely with existing clients to understand their evolving needs and business objectives.
- Regularly communicate new developments, updates, and offerings to prospective and current clients to maximize client engagement and retention.
- Communicate company value proposition and deliver a conceptual proposal and service delivery design
- Manage the end-to-end bid process
- Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Preparation of sales & marketing materials and tender proposals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, client interactions, and progress in company software.
- Prepare regular reports and analyses on sales performance, lead generation, and conversion rates to provide insights for decision-making.
Requirements
- Experience & Track Records
- Minimum 3 years in the environmental services industry
- Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or its equivalent
- Self-motivated, sales-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Demonstrable experience/track record performing in a new business hunter role in a solutions-based B2B environment
- Results-oriented
