Your Purpose

Be a trusted business partner with production (project teams) to provide financial assistance for decision making and ensure effective and efficient collaboration with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

The Financial Planning Analyst enables senior management and production teams to make data-driven choices and critical decisions through financial insights and analysis. This role focuses on fostering strong relationships with project teams, through tailored business support and conducting regular budget preparation, reporting, and analysis.

The individual will be facilitating effective collaboration with all stakeholders at projects, studio, collaboration studios and HQ.

Your Daily Adventure

This role will report to the Financial Planning Manager for the Singapore studio.

Projects Budgeting and Reporting

• Prepare initial project budgets and monthly forecast update
• Consolidate and analyze financial data (staffing, activity costs, actuals, forecast)
• Monitor and challenge projects’ budgets and ensure the projects’ spending are within the budget
• Build and maintain dashboards on financial status and risks
• Provide analysis and recommendations to optimize costs and improve financial performance
• Manage and maintain staffing tools
• Consolidate and prepare projects’ P&L
• Prepare finance dashboard for Production’s major updates to HQ

Projects Business Partner

• Demonstrate initiative to engage with business stakeholders in making recommendations for financial/business process and tool improvement
• Conduct regular meetings with producers and executives to communicate finance vision
• Conduct business studies on historical performance, conduct benchmarking, develop financial models, identify trends, conduct ad hoc studies
• Provide additional analysis and forecast, looking for correlations between finance and production data
• Raise flags when need be to address quickly any potential domain issue
• Analyze current tools and practices, assess about efficiency and drive change if need be

Business Partnering

• Business partnering and decision-making support for driving performance to achieve strategic and financial objectives
• Process Lead for strategic and annual planning, forecasting & performance management
• Drive for strong collaboration within Asia Region finance team – coach and train Asia Finance community for FPA deliverables
• Take leadership to optimize cross functional processes and collaboration to maximize impact on business, customers and teams

Business Partner for the Alliance Cluster

• Act as key business partner to Strategic Alliance group which manages all export markets, support product launch analysis, work with commercial lead on pricing strategy to ensure sustainable profitability

Management Reporting

• Ownership of reporting suites for Santen Asia. Managing and consolidating reports in monthly /quarterly /yearly cycles. Responsible for commentary to assist commercial teams to get insight of the reporting cycles
• Implement and drive monthly financial review process at country level and champion its standardization
• Perform monthly forecast, annual budgeting, analyze data, variance analysis, consolidate commentaries for actuals and forecasts, support monthly reviews and provide valuable input for decision making
• Work across departments and countries to prepare budgets and consolidate them into one overall corporate budget
• Propose and drive cost saving initiatives to business/functions at business unit level

Project Management

• Support Head of Finance, Asia and partner with business and functional teams in projects and strategic initiatives such as new business models, system implementation
• Lead and drive ad-hoc projects, as and when assigned

Finance System Control

• Develop front-end planning and reporting platform which is sanctioned by Global Finance
• Harmonize expense line items, ensure standardization of expense reporting code between ERP, Reporting Module alignment across Asia Region + Countries + Global Finance team
• Maintain and own process of Santen Asia reporting system. Act as the key user and point of contact between corporate HQ and regions to coordinate and implement upgrades and escalations point for systems issues
• Assist in the implementation of Global FP&A projects, contribute to setting of new Global, Region and Country KPI(s)
• Identify and implement KPI(s), performance management tools to measure and track business performance in the Region

Asia Regional FP&A

• Measure and track business performance in the Asia region on a monthly basis
• Provide monthly regional management P&L reports to the Asia management team 
• Manage key processes of a) annual Budget planning with guidance, key milestones, and target setting, and b) quarterly Forecast updates in collaboration with the Corporate Planning across the Asia region
• Support Head of Finance-Asia to drive initiatives and projects, by partnering with business and functional teams, such as new business models, M&A, and system implementations
• Business partnering and decision-making support for driving expected performances and achieving strategic objectives and financial goals
• Take leadership to optimize cross-functional processes and collaborate to maximize impact on businesses, customers, and teams
• Drive transformation and simplification of business processes with development of mindset to success
• Drive strong collaboration with country finance teams – provide coaching on FP&A related deliverables, business cases analysis, scenario planning and simulations
• Partner with CFU/HF/CF to ensure financial KPIs and reporting requirements
• Perform a standard costing process for Asia RDC operations – manage control principles and procedures in collaboration with SCM team
• Manage Finance master data in existing ERP and for the future SAP project.
• Establish strong functioning FP&A team for Asia Region - lead, coach and develop FP&A analysts

Country FP&A for Singapore/Alliance Cluster

• Perform quarterly forecast, annual budgeting, and monthly performance reviews with reconciliation analysis between actuals and forecasts
• Provide valuable input for decision-making support such as new product launch
• Work with functions to prepare budget / forecasts and consolidate them into country P&L
• Collaborate with Market Access function on pricing strategy and price setting, provide financial analysis to safeguard gross margin and ensure sustainable profitability

Experience:

• 1-3 years’ experience in Business Analysis/Product Control/Audit
• Working knowledge of Financial/Commodity Markets is preferred
• Understanding of Accounting principles is required
