What we’re looking for

This role is accountable for maximising retention and building and delivering tailored strategy for growth from assigned Strategic Key Accounts.

Maintaining and growing the business with assigned Strategic Key Account(s) though aligning understanding and delivery of customer requirements across all Lloyd’s Register’s (LR) functions ensuring each role contributes to creating customer value: embed ‘client centricity’.

Whilst also optimising profitability, reducing cost to serve, focussing on increased penetration through value creation and solutions-based selling, and developing multi- level multi-functional contacts between the client and their LR counterparts.

Acting as the Voice of the Customer within Lloyd’s Register, building cross functional teams and leveraging internal relationships to help our key clients meet their strategic objectives, and deliver increased value for the client and LR.

Building and delivering tailored strategies for LR’s largest clients with the biggest market influence and largest future potential to develop and grow LR’s business through bespoke and strategic alignment. Leading the business in developing solutions based on client needs, creating lifetime value as a trusted advisor to LR’s key clients. Working closely with teams and individuals across LR to provide an exceptional customer experience, KAM builds close relationships with key accounts, thorough account planning and specialised service.

The role

• Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business, strategies, markets, competitive landscape and develop a One-LR key account strategy for the nominate client(s), including a named account team with clear delivery objectives and accountabilities.
• Craft client-focused strategies that deliver positive impact for the client, which will lead to sustainable and profitable growth for LR.
• Create bundled solutions to meet express and tacit client needs for key accounts, engaging cross-company as required, to deliver real business value propositions
• Maintain a close relationship with the key account Executive Sponsor and senior commercial leaders across LR to maximise benefits and deliver on jointly agreed objectives.
• To manage and co-ordinate the building of multi-level relationships between LR and the client organisation.
• Develop and implement a relationship management strategy for each strategic account to ensure that relationships are developed and strengthened across all functions and executive levels, to manage and mitigate supporters, blockers, decision makers and gatekeepers, to remove single points of failure, build contingency, and to ensure the right level contact is taking place in a managed and proactive way.
• Build, maintain and communicate a Strategic Key Account plan, including a strategic vision (3-5 years) and short and medium delivery objectives aligned with global strategy, anchored with a cross functional delivery team and clear KPIs and metrics.
• Identify new business opportunities and lead the collaboration effort with internal stakeholders to identify and realise cross-stream business opportunities ensuring LR is best placed to win.
• Develop clear commercial strategies that create true ‘win- win’ for all parties and lead to profitable growth in the account(s)
• Manage conflict at all levels, driving through acceptable outcomes for all parties.
• To effectively manage a dynamic virtual Strategic Account Team, and bring in skills and competences as required by the changing needs of the client
• Deploy effective negotiating and selling strategies in the key account and internally, using other resources as required to achieve outcomes
• Lead promotion and communication of LR products and services to client directly via KAM team, and arrange appropriate visits, presentations and local /global seminars as required. Working with the CMO team to develop marketing strategy for key account(s).
• Monitor, report on, upload to SFL and disseminate as appropriate all client meetings and visits as well as all aspects of competitor activity for client and general client activity. Understand the analysed patterns of client meetings and develop strategies to act on them.
• Leverage and incorporate the insights provided by the Insight and Segment teams to improve understanding of the market context, the strategic context and the changing landscape which may affect key account objectives positively or negatively.

What you bring

· Significant knowledge and understanding of business strategy and goal setting and implementation.

· Experience of seafaring or ship-management (ant ship type) is highly preferred

· Previous experience in a Classification Society on a Commercial Role is considered an advantage

· Demonstrable experience of leading Key Accounts; development of Key Account plans and strategies, building and maintaining client relationships, customer focused mindset.

· Ability to research and analyze market dynamics, interpretation of data and determination of likely outcomes and associated actions required.

· Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels – both inside our organisation and outside in the business.

· Understanding of and capability to lead Creation of business and financial value propositions.

· Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy

• Partners the Global Head of HR CIB and Value Stream Leads to build, refine, manage and deliver the holistic, business centric CIB People Agenda in service of the business delivering its strategy. Takes responsibility for the overall management of the Agenda and Book of Work, working closely with colleagues across the CIB HRLT.
• Provides co-leadership to the “Data Informed” Value Stream within the CIB HR Book of Work, defining, articulating and tracking the impact of the People Agenda, and leading the storytelling off the back of that.
• Works across the CIB HR LT in service of a seamless client experience with the landing of the Book of Work that drives business value. Dives in to areas as required to join the dots and ensure effective delivery, including partnering Value Stream Leads on Retrospectives, lessons learned and Book of Work refinement.
• Leads various projects and initiatives on behalf of the Global Head of HR, CIB – across the People Agenda.

Business

• Support the Global Head of HR, CIB with critical, high value Talent, Culture, Performance and Organisation Design with and for the CEOs, CIB and CIB MT.
• Manage ongoing the cadence and operating rhythm of the CIB HR organisation – operating as Chair and Secretary as noted in the ‘Appointment’ section above. Drive meeting effectiveness in service of team and business outcomes.
• Manage the CIB HR budget and ensure effective controls in place with governance around team T&E aligned to S&T standards.

Processes

• Ensure effective delivery of all key CIB HR outputs to Group and Business level forums and committees, including partnering on drafting of MT level papers as required.
• Manage the holistic, effective communications plan across CIB HR – joining the dots across streams to monetise the CIB Employee Value Proposition through our internal and external communications cadence. Draft relevant communications on behalf of the Global Head of HR, CIB and work in partnership with the Value Stream Heads and CIB communications on broader communications to ensure effective execution.

• Provide support on appropriate risk frameworks in place so that activities are carried out within the Group's risk appetite and reputational risks are appropriately managed.
• Provide support to ensure any audit and compliance issues relating to CIB HR are resolved in a timely manner.
• Provide support to ensure that Risk Management matters that are brought to the job-holder's attention are subject to direct remedial action and/or escalated, where appropriate to relevant risk committees

What You’ll Do

• Deliver people programs and projects in line with organizational and business strategy

Role Overview

As a Business Development Director, you will play a key role in driving new business opportunities and growing our client base, targeting foreign entities entering Singapore. You will be responsible for identifying and nurturing leads, building relationships with prospective clients, and presenting our suite of recruitment solutions to key decision-makers in various industries. Key Responsibilities

• Lead Generation & Prospecting - Identify and generate new business leads through various channels including, networking, and referrals, partnership. Leverage market research to identify potential clients in need of RPO & HR Operation services in the Professional Services, Retail and F&B sectors.

• Sales Presentations & Proposals - Conduct consultative sales calls and meetings with prospective clients to understand their HR needs, pain points, and business goals. Present tailored HR solutions and services to prospects, demonstrating how Emplifi can meet their hiring challenges.

• Contract Negotiation & Closing - Lead negotiations to close sales and secure new contracts. Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful service delivery and client satisfaction post-sale.

• Sales Forecasting & Reporting - Track and report on sales activities, pipeline progress, and performance metrics. Weekly updates with accurate information regarding lead status, opportunities, and potential deals.

• Market & Industry Expertise - Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and industry best practices to continuously refine the sales approach. Use this knowledge to effectively position Emplifi’s services and differentiate it from competitors.

• Collaboration with Internal Teams - Collaborate with the recruitment, HR Operations and client success teams to ensure seamless service delivery and to identify new opportunities for cross-selling or upselling existing clients.

Key Requirements

• Experienced in regional and/or China markets.

• Native speaker and business proficiency of Mandarin as candidates will be targeting Chinese firms entering Singapore

• In-depth understanding of the Chinese corporate culture and decision making process

• Proven track record in B2B business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the recruitment or talent acquisition industry
