Singapore Chemical Industry Council Limited

SCIC is the industry association recognized by the Singapore Government Agencies and International Chemical Industry National Organisations as the single voice representing the Chemical Industry in Singapore. Standards Development Organisation

In 2011, SPRING Singapore (now known as Enterprise Singapore) appointed SCIC as the Standards Development Organisation (SDO@SCIC).

The key functions of the SDO@SCIC are to coordinate standards development projects, encourage greater industry participation and promote adoption of standards in the chemical and related industries. The SDO@SCIC also aims to raise awareness of the benefits of standards among industries.

Standards Development Committees

The Chemical Standards Committee (CSC) spearheads the development and implementation of chemical standards to support the chemical cluster and its supporting industries and maintain Singapore’s position as a world-class chemical hub. The key focus areas of CSC include chemicals and processes, bunkering, nanotechnology, paints as well as petroleum processes.

The Environment Resources Standards Committee (ERSC) spearheads the development and adoption of standards to address sustainable development and promote the growth of the cleantech sector. The key focus of ERSC is to develop, promote and support the implementation of standards for environmental management, circularity of materials, water management, sustainable energy.

Responsibilities:

· Manage the Standards Development Committees and its Working groups in addressing various standardisation issues for the chemical and related industries. This includes scheduling of meetings, writing meeting minutes, managing partners such as industry practitioners, government regulators, other stakeholders etc. and following up on various initiatives and work plans put forth by the committees.

· Manage the organisation of events such as standards industry awareness events, standards seminars, standards workshops etc.

· Manage standards project timeline and prepare reports and proposals related to standards development

· To support SCIC activities when required

Requirements:

A recognised Degree in Engineering, preferably with one year of working experience in the chemical industry

Strong writing skills

Main Objective:

• Ensure a smooth order execution and drive through issues to success.
