Position Overview: The Country Manager - Business Development will be responsible for driving market penetration and expansion in Singapore. This role will focus on outdoor sales, new account targeting, tender management, and fostering long-term customer relationships. The successful candidate will be a proactive “hunter” with a deep understanding of business development strategies, excellent sales capabilities, and a strong drive to grow market share. This role also involves collaborating with Category Managers to promote special offers and optimizing the use of inventory for cross-selling and upselling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Penetration & Expansion: Spearhead the business development efforts in Singapore, driving market entry, expansion, and increasing brand visibility across key sectors.
- New Account Targeting & Acquisition: Focus on identifying, targeting, and acquiring new business accounts, including key clients, partnerships, and high-potential prospects through outdoor sales efforts, prospecting, and cold-calling.
- Tender Management: Lead and manage the tender process for key accounts, ensuring the timely and competitive submission of tenders, and working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure high-quality proposals.
- Customer Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and partners to foster trust, repeat business, and customer loyalty. Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts.
- Cross-selling & Upselling: Collaborate with Category Managers to promote special offers and cross-sell/up-sell additional products and services from within the existing inventory. Use data and market insights to create tailored solutions for clients.
- Promote Special Offers & Product Lines: Leverage inventory and sales guidelines set by Category Managers to ensure relevant and timely promotions are effectively communicated and promoted to clients, boosting sales opportunities.
- CRM Management: Track all sales activities, customer interactions, and progress toward targets through CRM systems. Ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available for reporting and forecasting.
- Team Leadership & Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, and sales, to ensure smooth execution of sales strategies and provide input on business development opportunities.
- Reporting & Performance Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales activities, customer acquisition, and account retention. Provide regular reports to senior management on business development performance and market trends.
Requirements:
- Proven Sales Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management with a strong focus on new business acquisition and outdoor sales in a B2B environment.
- Experience in Tender Management: Proven track record of managing and winning large tenders, with the ability to manage multiple, high-priority opportunities simultaneously.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Strong ability to build and nurture client relationships, providing personalized service and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Sales & Negotiation Skills: Exceptional sales skills with a track record of exceeding targets, securing new business, and closing deals in competitive environments.
- Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the automotive aftermarket or vehicle/engine repair workshop space, and an understanding of market dynamics, trends, and customer needs.
- Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities with the capability to effectively present to clients and stakeholders at all levels.
