Job Description:

Our client in Singapore is seeking an experienced Transaction Monitoring Business Analyst (Level 2) to join their team, with the triage being done in India. This role involves working closely with multiple stakeholders to define business and functional requirements, document processes, and ensure the successful implementation of transaction monitoring systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Business and functional requirements preparation.
• Communication with individual entities/teams of the client and defining their specifics which should be considered as part of the implementation.
• Business process documentation, proposing changes and defining requirements for process re-engineering.
• Co-ordination and linking of individual work streams as part of the wider program.
• Experience with gathering data requirements and data quality analysis.
• Amending/defining test cases (UAT) and supporting the testing.
• Contribute to other related tasks as needed to ensure the smooth execution of the project.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience from comprehensive implementation projects in banking sector.
• Experience with functional implementation of a transaction monitoring systems.
• Experience with defining AML monitoring scenarios and qualitative parameters of detection scenarios.
• Understanding of AML/CTF processes, technology or regulation is a significant benefit.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills.
• University degree - preferably IS/IT.
• Medior/senior: 4+ years of experience.
• Language(s): English.

Functional Business Analyst for Corporate Internet Banking

• Responsible to identify, analyse and documentation of User Stories / User Journeys based on the business requirements document
• Analyze and document the “to-be” business and operation processes based on the agreed requirements and / or function points, perform impact assessment and estimation
• Monitor and manage risks /issues related to requirements and scope-creep
• Team Collaboration
• Participate in transitioning the requirements to the designers, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements.
• Assist in translating business requirements into test scenarios.
• Facilitate / provide “Train-the-Trainer” on application enhancements
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge base related to application features and processes (subject matter expertise)
• Testing & Scope Management
• Clarify test findings escalated by Test Manager and classify the findings accordingly (either as a defect or change request)
• Perform impact assessment and estimation for Project Change Request
• Good knowledge in financial services policies, procedures, products and industry practices.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skill
• Strong working knowledge of relevant applications and development life cycles

Mandatory is:

• Experience in Business Analysis. 5-10 years
• Experience in Digital Channels and in transaction banking. 5 years+
• Understanding of Technology but no need to have coding experience
• Capturing, analyzing and eliciting business Requirements:

Elaborating JIRA stories

• Agile product development experience

Nice to have is:

• Detailed Knowledge in how Payments work in Singapore vs Malaysia vs Hong Kong (regulatory too)
• Knowledge of features offered by competitors
• Knowledge of Technology trends eg. how does a digital bank approach digital channels
• API /SWIFT experience

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst with expertise in Actimize or similar transaction monitoring systems to join our team. This role will support a client project focused on upgrading and enhancing transaction monitoring capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis and system expertise, complemented by excellent customer-facing skills. Success in this role means delivering value to the client by understanding their needs, collaborating on solutions, and ensuring timely and effective system implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with client stakeholders, including compliance, risk, and IT teams, to gather, document, and prioritize requirements for transaction monitoring upgrades and enhancements.

Solution Design: Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for Actimize or other transaction monitoring systems, including configurations, rule logic, and scenario development.

System Configuration and Testing: Oversee configuration changes and ensure thorough user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify that system enhancements align with client expectations.

Compliance Alignment: Work closely with client compliance teams to ensure system configurations align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Project Execution: Provide project management support, including tracking milestones, identifying risks, and collaborating on resolutions to maintain project timelines and deliverables.

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Develop comprehensive documentation for all system updates and processes, supporting both compliance audits and smooth knowledge transfer to client teams.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or related field.

· Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on transaction monitoring or compliance systems.

· Strong background in Actimize or similar platforms, preferably in financial or regulatory contexts.

· Proficiency in transaction monitoring system functions, including alert and case management.

· Familiarity with SQL for basic data analysis, along with experience in project management tools like JIRA and Confluence.

· Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to manage client relationships and convey complex information to diverse audiences.

· Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

· Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to meeting project goals.
