The Senior Project Engineer should be familiar with performing energy audits, measurement and verification, design and sizing of ACMV systems, preparation of tender specification and managing contractors to supply, install, test and commission ACMV systems.

The candidate should be comfortable engaging and interacting with both internal and external parties for the project and managing ongoing relationships with clients and subcontractors. The Senior Project Engineer will be involved in various types of projects undertaken by the company such as Consultancy on ACMV systems, Retrofit/Turnkey projects for ACMV systems and Energy Audit projects.

Job Description & Requirements

• Prepare, schedule, manage, coordinate and monitor projects
• Perform value engineering design to achieve highest efficiency standard for ACMV System
• Develop tender specifications and perform natural & unbiased tender evaluations
• Attend to site test and inspections to ensure quality of standards and all health & safety requirements are adhered to
• Assist in the preparation of progress payments claims and variation orders where required
• Work closely with Project Managers and site personnel in the execution of task schedule
• Supervise contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and staff at site
• Prepare necessary presentation in person or document and PowerPoint and drawings to various stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and progress.
• Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during the project.
• Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, team members, and senior management.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper project initiation and setup.
• Collaborate and assist other team members on projects when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in M&E or related engineering field
• At least 2-3 years and above of professional project management experience, preferably in ACMV and within construction industry or shows skills in the role and ability to showcase past completed projects.
• Understanding of building systems particularly in HVAC systems and other M&E disciplines
• Ability to identify innovative solutions to problems
• Proactive, possess a positive attitude and able to work independently
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills
• Takes initiative and demonstrates willingness to learn
• Able to multi-task and work as a team

Planning, Scheduling, and Coordinating Production

• Responsible for the production planning / co-ordination, scheduling, and dispatching

• Monitor & support material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.

• Plans for production which includes releasing of work orders and ensuring on time delivery of shipments.

• Evaluate and analyze MRP output to ensure the correct material is driven, ordered, issued, and available for the Contract Manufacturing (CM) to support build and ship dates.

• Work closely with purchasing and warehouse/logistics groups to ensure on time receipt, delivery of materials and finish goods shipments.

• Drives and minimize excess and obsolescence inventory.

• Co-ordinate and resolve outstanding materials issues with cross functional department to eliminate surprises material shortages (E.g. RMA)

• Manage material transitions and work with CMs to use up all excess inventory.

• Monitor and track ECO’s for implementation, effectivity dates, rework, and inventory purge.

• Create SSDM SO for backorder shipment, track & fulfil SSDM requirements.

• Ensure consigned parts materials availability to support CM production and coordination of materials movement through Schenker to CM.

• Monitor and review TMS shortage report to identify critical material shortage needs and work with procurement for improvement.

• Review and approve interplant inventory allocation (STPO)

• Work with procurement team to ensure POs are updated or new POs are placed.

• Work with Fremont logistic team to ensure parts are ship on timely manner to DB Schenker

• Update work orders to add/remove parts per ECO.

• Work with manufacture engineering to correct BOM errors and follow through until the ECO implemented.

• Support monthly/quarterly work order-tool material variance review with finance.

• Develop and maintain key performance metric.

• Run weekly reports to determine (potential) material shortages that need to be expedited. Schedule a weekly meeting to follow up with buyer to ensure materials are available to support production use per load plan.

• Update consignment parts status report to CM – provide material dock date, shipping tracking number from MTI to BD Schenker & stock available in DB Schenker Monitoring BOM Changes

• Ensure all customer’s ECNs are implemented in a timely manner.

• Work with config engineer to correct BOM errors and follow through until the ECO implemented

• Update work orders to add/remove parts per ECO.

• Organising & managing project teams, including hiring contractors as needed to complete specific tasks
• Ensuring all costs are within budget and working with team members to identify opportunities for cost savings
• Communicating with clients throughout the project to ensurre they are satisfied with progress and updates
• Developing and implementing project timelines, ensuring that deadlines are met and that tasks are completed on time
• Evaluating project risks and making recommendations for mitigration of identified risks
• Providing regular progress reports to clients on the status of projects
• Communicating with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other parties involved in the project
