Job Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Product Development Specialist to join our efforts to develop speciality functional ingredients that enable the production of tasty, affordable and healthier meat alternatives. As a Product Development Specialist, you will report to and work closely with the Chief Technology Officer to identify, prioritize and design key activities that align with Ants Innovate’s commercialization goals. You may carry out these activities as an individual or as part of a team, and where appropriate, organize and lead a team effort to perform specific activities. The key measure of success of a Product Development Specialist is the successful development of functional ingredients from laboratory to commercialization.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Product development of functional ingredients, including end-product prototyping, quality and safety evaluations, and production scale-up.
- Develop novel or improved functional ingredient characteristics using both analytical and sensory methods (with supervisor and R&D team).
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for validated production methods and processes.
- Support sample tasting sessions and product demonstrations.
- Maintain proper documentation to support product costing, scale-up and manufacturing.
- Perform regular house-keeping of the laboratory/test kitchen.
- Perform ad-hoc, business-related duties that are assigned by the supervisor and not explicitly spelt out in the job description.
- Participate actively in all required internal and external meetings and provide weekly updates of progress to the team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Food Science & Technology or a relevant field of study. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Relevant certifications in Food Safety and Hygiene and/or Food Preparation are advantageous.
- Prior knowledge or experience in any of the following areas is advantageous: food manufacturing process design, recipe formulation, texture profile analysis, rheology, nutritional analysis.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to speak Mandarin is advantageous.
