Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
The bank is also a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Approved Employer.
The Business Finance & Strategy Support function works within the Group Finance support unit and is responsible for providing all MIS business performance, financial, accounting and capital support relating to Global Financial Markets (GFM) businesses across the region within the Bank.
This includes supporting GFM business strategies in areas of regulatory, accounting, valuation, business performance reviews, as well as monitoring market development in these landscapes and assessing the impact of changes on GFM.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist the team in the following areas:
- Undertake various projects to address business needs such as providing business analytics relating to business performance, financial, accounting and capital advisory services.
- Evaluate and formulate plans, review and present findings relating to optimisation of returns and other business performance metrics.
- Proactively plan, drive, and engage with relevant stakeholders to offer comprehensive end-to-end analysis and insights, bridging between business stakeholders, senior management, locations, and various Finance units where required.
- Assist in framing business needs, analysing & translating data sets, identifying opportunities, and providing recommendations as necessary.
- Provide end-to-end business support, including facilitating controls, enhancing overall business performance, and driving business strategies.
Requirements
- Min 8 - 10 years relevant work experience in a similar function such as project management, business management & support, and/or consulting & advisory roles. Some prior experience in related capital management or accounting advisory functions is a plus.
- Experience in creative thinking, problem solving, strategy formulation as well as familiarity with data analytics and visualisation tools.
- Experience in managing business and senior stakeholders with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of treasury markets and derivative products, business performance drivers, accounting and regulatory capital rules will be advantageous.
- Nimble, able to work under pressure and interested in developing a career in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong team player with managerial skills is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in banking, economics, finance, accounting, computer science, financial engineering or a related discipline is required.
- Masters degree in a similar discipline is preferred.
