Singapore Art Museum opened in 1996 as the first art museum in Singapore. Also known as SAM, we present contemporary art from a Southeast Asian perspective for artists, art lovers and the art curious in multiple venues across the island, including a new venue in the historic port area of Tanjong Pagar.
SAM is building one of the world's most important public collections of Southeast Asian contemporary art, with the aim of connecting the art and the artists to the public and future generations through exhibitions and programmes. Job Description
- Develop and implement all aspects of planning and operations relating to the realisation of exhibitions and other projects, as well as, care of artwork collections
- Organise and develop a full project life cycle project plans for the production management activities, including overseeing workflow, budget & costs management, timeline setting, project administration and exhibition set up and maintenance, logistics, design, fabrication and artwork/project installation for local and travelling exhibitions / projects
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
- Analysing and managing project risk, monitoring progress and taking corrective measures
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Responsible and manage day to day maintenance of museum displays
- Manage physical facilities for exhibitions and projects, including gallery spaces, art handling areas and exhibition stores
- Review and keep up with current trends and best practices that may have an impact on exhibition/project planning, logistics and museum management issues
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal resourcing, working relationships and fostering key networks
- Apply and enforce workplace safety measurements at worksites
- Handle ad-hoc assignments as and when required
Qualification
A good bachelor's degree with at least 3 to 5 years’ technical experience or exhibition / artistic presentations
