About the team
The Legal team at Stripe is growing! We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our Product Legal team in Singapore! As product counsel supporting Stripe Terminal Hardware, you will work on complex technical and legal problems every day - helping expand and support our hardware offering. Stripe Terminal helps our users extend their online presence to the physical world. The Terminal team’s mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person payments as the Stripe API has done for online payments. With Terminal, businesses can unlock in-person payments use cases that are right for their business model—whether it’s creating a superb retail experience, extending their website to a pop-up store, or enabling a mobile point-of-sale at their next event. Terminal is one of the fastest growing products at Stripe and we are expanding both globally and into new segments and verticals.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for someone who is a team player and willing to jump in on tasks of any size. You will serve as product and commercial partnership counsel for Stripe’s Terminal Hardware team and counsel the Stripe product team on a range of issues including.
Responsibilities
- Actively collaborate with a wide variety of Stripe teams including product and technical teams, business development, and marketing to provide comprehensive support for all stages of hardware development - advising the product, hardware, and business development teams on hardware, commercial transactions, supply chain & logistics, insurance, regulatory, consumer protection, marketing, intellectual property, and data privacy.
- Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial transactions powering hardware operations, build out associated standards, templates, and processes, and help train the team on best practices and risk mitigation in this area.
- Ensure compliance with applicable US and International laws and regulations relating to the products including advising on the necessary certifications required to enable distribution of our products around the world, environmental compliance, and product safety.
- Help build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new hardware products.
- Draft, review, and update supporting documents for product offerings.
- Stay up-to-date (with the support of Stripe’s many legal subject matter experts) on laws and regulations; analyze laws, regulatory updates, industry trends to proactively advise clients of potential product impacts.
- Participate as a proactive business partner to senior managers and build a trusted advisor relationship.
- Develop deep subject matter expertise of the Stripe Terminal hardware products and serve as a legal team member point of contact for escalations and questions related to Stripe Terminal hardware.

Minimum requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer working on complex technology or supply chain matters or deals, preferably working with technology companies on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development and supply chain in the hardware technology space.
- Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts (background in hardware, supply chain, and transportation/logistics agreements is preferred).
- A passion for technology and ability to understand complex business models and product use cases quickly.
- A self-starter and self-learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple work streams and priorities simultaneously and efficiently
- Strong communication (both written and verbal), project management and relational skills and can work well cross-functionally with a sense of urgency, while remaining highly collaborative
- Excellent project management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent judgment, and be capable of making smart decisions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information.
- Strategic thinking to enable business partners to make decisions that are grounded in a practical application of the law, the technology, and the business goals.
Hybrid work at Stripe
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
Pay and benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is S$208,000 - S$312,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
