Production Manager [ New plant in Q4 ]
Working location: Jurong Island (Transport pick up : Jurong East)
Work hours : 8 am to 4.30 pm (Mon to Fri)
Salary range : $7500 - $8500
The Production Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the entire plant operations for the new plant which will be launched in second half of 2026, including manufacturing, safety, engineering, maintenance, materials, quality, information systems, talent experience, and financial performance. This position will provide overall leadership, direction, and coaching to the plant organization in all areas of responsibility. The Production Manager will be accountable for the overall results, capabilities and culture of the plant while driving the growth and development of team members as well as company values. They will work with plant leadership to handle all personnel issues and the administrative duties that accompany. Until the startup of the new production line, the Production Manager is responsible for organizing post-production team of new plant, including management and training of new employees, preparation of production operation system to achieve safe and stable commissioning and startup of the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Production Department in accordance to the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policy including Major Accident Prevention Policy, in compliance to statutory requirements, industry standards and company regulations.
- Establish Functional objectives, policies, procedures, and key performance indicators to ensure safe and efficient operation of the functions.
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop team to achieve company’s objectives effectively and within budget and ensuring activities are conducted ethically, consistently, and according to relevant regulations, laws, and standards.
- Lead and implement function’s improvement and cost saving activities in the department.
- Responsible for the development and management of budgets throughout fiscal year to achieve department goals.
- Align Plant operation with the requirement of Mandatory Regulatory control of the country and the corporate safety philosophy of the company.
- Plan the department’s organizational progression for succession, competency and development.
- Support Production Planning with Product Management at KAP for Yearly Budget Planning and Monthly Planned Production
- Prepare BUDGET planning activities with Accounting Team including cost price estimates for Utilities including liaising with respective materials’ vendors.
- Plan, direct and monitor all Production & Logistics activities to maximize the use of Organization resource and meet established production specification and schedule including volume, cost, wastage target and quality control standard.
- Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity.
- Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions (for example changes to procedures, workflow, or equipment) that will improve performance.
- Liaise with functional managers (for example in supply and logistics or sales) to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules.
- Ensuring the implementation of timely corrective actions when near misses or nonconformities are detected.
- Developing and implementing programs and process engineering projects to optimize plant operations based on process analysis.
- Liaise with Sale office on monthly production schedule.
- Approve delivery schedules.
- Liaise with Technical department and contractors on project matters.
- Authorize to shut down the plant without management approval in the event that the plant trouble or emergency could lead to catastrophic even (fire explosion).
- Ensure all Production members comply to the established safe work procedures/rules & regulations for safe and stable plant operation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, or Engineering
- 6-10 years of chemical plant experience.
- 6-10 years of leadership experience of diverse teams.
- Depth and breadth of know-how in petrochemical processes and polymer science, engineering practices, efficient manufacturing operations from raw materials purchasing to finished goods shipment, and quality improvement process.
