The Assistant Engineer, Production Process Support is responsible for running engineering evaluations, collecting and compiling of data with simple analysis, and part measurements. The incumbent will also manage change order (CO) activities as well as non-conformance part movements.

This position reports to the Production Process Support Manager and is part of the Manufacturing Engineering department located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.

The Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for setting up an efficient manufacturing test process by developing procedures (automated testing) to test mass spectrometer instruments and improving First Pass Yield continuously to meet the organization objectives. You will gain new product knowledge of mass spectrometer in theory and practical as well as enhancing your technical competency in engineering fields.

This position is part of the Manufacturing Engineering Department and will be located in Marsiling Industrial Estate, Singapore.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Develop the commissioning and final tests procedures (automated testing) to meet system requirements.
• Improve and modify manufacturing test software.
• Apply Problem Solving Process to define problem statements, investigate to root causes, verify countermeasures and ensure sustainment.
• Improve the First Pass Yield and parts DPPM failures in Manufacturing.
• Assist instrument installation escalation calls in the field through site visit/remote access if required.
• Expand PCBA troubleshooting skills to detect defective Electrical/Electronics components.
• Perform First Article Evaluation of Electrical/Electronic parts and software.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 1-2 years of experience working in ISO 13485 manufacturing environment. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Hands on experience in using measuring equipment like digital multimeter, oscilloscope, function generators, etc. during his/her university studies.
• Understand PCBA manufacturing process, able to read the PCBA schematic diagram and perform troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge in analog and digital electronics is desired.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel to North America for 1-2 months during project.
• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 10kg daily.

As a ManufacturingEngineer, you will:

Work hand-in-hand with Product Engineer, the Test Engineer is responsible for providing technical and engineering supports for sustaining product manufacturing as well as supporting NPI, in meeting products’ specification, customer requirements and organization goals and objectives.

The key responsibilities are as below:

• Monitor, maintain and improve assembly/test first pass yield
• Perform first level production line/equipment fallout verification to resolve line issues quickly without impacting production output and follow up until closure
• Work with Product Engineer to have effective RCCA and resolution to product quality issues
• Coordinate with cross-functional team to implement actions required to evaluate and qualify necessary manufacturing process, SW/FW, tester/equipment or product/component changes
• Provide training to line operators and technicians on assembly and test
• Keep shop floor MES up-to-date arising from changes
• Rectify malfunctioned equipment/tester
• Ensure preventive maintenance is executed
• Follow up on equipment calibration
• Identify and work on Continuous Improvement such as First Pass Yield improvement, cycle time reduction, digitalization, waste elimination, productivity improvement, process automation and etc
• Support VAVE activities
• Preparation of FPY and RCCA report

• Assist to/execute Prototype builds, Pilot Build and Engineering build
• Create and maintain Work/Manufacturing/Process Instruction
• Establish and maintain PFMEA and Control Plan
• Perform DFX (DFM, DFA, DFT)
• Production line set up and qualification Production Line setup and equipment planning for new project launch, define manufacturing line layout, sourcing for tooling, fixtures and equipment and prepare CAPEX

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

• Experience in validation/verification/calibration
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis and CAPA with the use of Quality tools
• Familiar Quality tools and techniques (Control Charts, Pareto Charts, cause and effect, etc.)

• Designing production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Preparing material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated
  production costs.
• Designing the layout of facilities and determining personnel tools requirements.
• Work with NPI Team to improve the Work Instructions (WI) and update WI.
• Work with NPI Team to perfect the BOM and update BOM.
• Managing process documentation and preparing production reports.
• Enforce Safety Procedures and practices at all times in compliance to company safety
  policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Possess Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Possess 3 years relevant experience in contract manufacturing environment.
• Experience in medical devices, cleanroom, GMP environment is a plus.
