Team Summary

The Consumer Solutions group manages the deployment and optimization of Visa’s core products base consisting of Credit, Debit and Prepaid payments solutions as well as Engagement Solutions and the benefits platforms that function across all product categories – together, these are Visa’s core products. The team is also responsible for the development and deployment of innovation across this product suite. To do this, we work in close partnership with Visa clients and key internal and external stakeholders. We are also the team responsible for leading the transition of conventional card-based solutions onto digital form factors, ensuring Visa payments solutions remain the market-leading way for consumers to spend their money and manage their payments across the Asia-Pacific region

What the SD, Head of Core Product Management does at Visa:

Reporting to the Head of Consumer Solutions, AP, the Head of Core Product Management will be responsible for initiatives across four broad areas of responsibility

1. Management of established core products - Credit, Debit and Prepaid to maximize operational efficiency in managing these established platforms
2. Identification and development and execute initiatives to drive expansion of Visa’s consumer credit portfolio, in line with the Visa 2030 strategy, driving growth in associated PV and revenue across.
3. Facilitate Visa’s thought leadership in the AP payments industry through promulgation of Core Product best practices.
4. Sourcing and management of Visa’s core cardholder benefits, across mass, affluent and x-border

The role-holder will lead a team of direct line reports in Singapore and works closely with Core Product teams across AP, responsible for evolving and building end-to-end consumer experiences that drive client preference for Visa as a strategic partner and make us an enabler of superior value propositions for digitally-enabled consumers.

An essential part of Visa’s success is the establishment and application of rules and standards, to ensure a uniform, reliable point-of-sale UX, both online and offline. The Head of Core Product Management will lead the efficient administration of these Rules and Standards as they pertain to Core Products, ensuring that the Rules are fit-for-purpose, while also ensuring their efficient operation and administration.

The role-holder will be responsible for the identification, development, commercialization and launch of new ways to grow the consumer unsecured credit business in AP, working closely with issuers and internal Global counterparts to expand “credit-card” issuance, as well as newer ways of efficiently facilitating the provision of unsecured credit, for example BNPL or other methods.

In addition, the SD, will manage Visa’s cardholder benefits such as merchant and partner benefits, Visa Concierge, Insurance and Visa Luxury Hotel Collection, as well as Core VAS (Value Added Services) service lines such as GCAS (Global Customer Assistance Services), Lounge referrals, Visa Customized Benefits, and the capabilities that support the delivery of these benefits and services. This includes the identification of Visa’s Concierge and Lounge strategy.

As part of this role, the Head of Core Product Management will also be responsible for facilitating the gathering, analysis and promulgation of best practices and recommendations for optimal Core Consumer Product performance both internally within Visa, and as a thought-leader externally, working closely with Visa Consulting & Analytics. 

You will need to be highly collaborative and will be the key interface between the market teams and Visa’s global team to ensure our platforms drive product differentiation, consumer activation and engagement

As well as working with in-market, client-facing teams, your team will work closely with the Global counterparts, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Client Services, Finance, Pricing, Legal.

Core Consumer Products are the key basis for Visa’s business in AP and encompass conventional card-based credit programs as well as newer digital solutions. Within Core Products, Consumer credit spans most life-stage and income segments in all Visa’s AP markets from entry-level credit products through to solutions designed to meet the needs of Ultra-High Net Worth consumers and as such is a key platform for revenue generation and consumer engagement for Visa and our clients. Overview of the Product & B2B Marketing Director at Visa:

As Regional Director, you will have a dual reporting line to the Sr. Director of Asia Pacific’s Product & B2B Marketing and the Visa Commercial Solution, Vice President of Global Product & B2B Marketing. You are responsible for leading regional marketing programs for Visa’s Growth Engine.

In this role, you will be the link that connects our regional product strategy to the tactics needed to drive success in sales and marketing. You will use strategic insights and data to drive the development of positioning, value proposition and messaging that resonates with buyers and enables our sales teams to be successful. In the Asia Pacific region there has seen a surge in the adoption of payments using QR code. This growth is driven by multiple factors such as - the widespread use of smartphones, increasing penetration of internet services and, adoption of QR by the real-time payment networks and fintech. This growth in QR code payments in not isolated in the Asia Pacific region. It is picking pace globally and, the trend is expected to continue in the coming years.

Visa is establishing it’s Centre of Excellence in Singapore which will spearhead Visa’s QR participation in this growing trend. A dedicated team will provide strategic direction, thought leadership, product and execution support, best practices, and oversight for QR based payment for Visa. While Asia Pacific region will be its operating and learning ground, the remit of this Center of Excellence will be global. This team will templatize its learning in the region and help shape market responses globally. The person in this Director - QR Product Management position is one of the team members of this CoE and, will be responsible to managing Visa’s QR product and report to the lead of Center of Excellence based in Singapore.

• You will be the subject matter expert on QR product. On a proactive basis you will often play the role of training and mentoring staff and, on a reactive basis you would be their go-to person for QR related questions or, problem solving.
• You will also be the advocate for Visa’s QR solutions, conducting sales pitches, workshop and training with varied players in the ecosystem including clients, merchants, regulators, and Visa’s various functional units.
• You will directly collaborate with key clients in the region and participate in their QR deployment journey. To drive adoption of QR code, you will provide them with user experience best practices, identifying right balance between convenience and security, onboarding processing or, help identify how Visa’s solution fit in their existing architecture.
• You will be expected to develop and maintain accurate, high-quality content for Sales pitches, implementation guides for Clients, internal implementation processes and, product marketing material.
• In this role you will closely monitor market trends, identify emerging opportunities, conduct periodic consumer and merchant research to remain current at all times. These activities will guide the QR product development roadmap for which you would be responsible.
• As you work with market team, clients and partners, you will also gather requirements for enhancing Visa’s QR offering. To translate these requirements into new capabilities, you will work with our internal new product development teams.
• Visa has a strong focus on growing value-added services. You will identify and commercialize different value-added services overlaying the QR payment transaction.   
• You will manage the on-going components of product management such as publishing road map, billing and reporting, maintaining documentation and handling exceptions.

The Role Responsibilities The Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking business is undertaking an initiative to uplift a set of existing-to-bank third party arrangements to the prevailing Third Party Risk Management and associated standard. The project will also review the target operating model for governance, risk management, contract owner support and tooling to ensure that the management of third party risk is sustainable.
