The Production Engineer, as Process Owners (Production Process) are responsible for the development, description, implementation, training, and monitoring of processes assigned to them.

Your Responsibilities

Analyzing processes assigned, define the processes’ interfaces and boundaries, and determine the requirements for a specification-compliant process result through perform and document process validations or re-validations including IQ, OQ and PQ. For AME team, assist Project Manager in identify, formulate, coordinating, monitor and follow-up technical tasks for the projects assigned.

Develop the process steps together with the interested parties:

• Define content of routings/workflows.
• Create the content for their description (FPV).

During product transfer:

• Taking charge of own assigned processes, plan and co-ordinate with relevant parties for Process transfer and is accountable on timeline and objective.
• Derive acceptance criteria for process target quantities.
• Prepare production transfer (ERS).
• Prove achievement of the process target quantity.
• Release process for serial production.

At serial production, drive defined plans:

• monitor key performance indicators, analyze them periodically, monitored deviations in the process and initiate corrective actions;
• conduct continuous improvements for operating performance through yield improvement, cycle-time optimization, waste reduction and productivity improvements;
• monitor climate conditions/process media and work with relevant parties to take corrective actions for deviation or abnormality.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY

Statistical skills:

• Conclusion of Hypothesis testing with statistical means.
• Identify Special and Common cause variables and take appropriate actions to address them.
• Define and determine the process capability of respective processes.

Lean Manufacturing:

• Implement concepts of Poka Yoke, SMED into assembly tooling and fixtures.
• Utilize 5S, 7-Mudas, Kaizen, Process flow, Spaghetti diagrams for production flow optimizations.

Continuous Improvement Project Management:

• Able to Lead, co-ordinate and use in FMEA / PRA in Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs).
• Utilize Ishikawa, PDCA, A3 Problem Solving, in day to day production activities / improvements.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Biomedical, Material, Chemical, Electronics, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering;
• Degree holders: at least 2 years of relevant working experience in process / production engineering.
• Diploma holder or equivalent: At least 8 years of relevant working experience in process / production engineering.
• Prior Engineering experience in medical devices industry is preferable.
• Assist Project Manager in identify and formulate technical tasks for the projects assigned.
• Experience in coordinating, monitor and follow-up technical tasks within project context.
• Prior Engineering experience in medical devices industry is preferable.
• Familiar with ISO13485 and GMP.
• Basic knowledge in SAP and MES is preferable.

Responsibilities:

• Create, review, and update process control documents, procedures, and operational condition sheets in collaboration with the Production Superintendent and Day Supervisors.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve issues to improve process efficiency, equipment performance, product yield, capacity, quality, material utilization, and utility consumption.
• Oversee and enhance process control systems (DCS, SIS) and manage process data logging.

• Lead process safety assessments, including HAZOP and LOPA, and provide technical expertise to the HSE department.
• Prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations for plant modifications, enhancements, and investment projects such as debottlenecking, environmental improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Perform basic engineering design for proposed investment projects, mark up P&IDs, and compile technical information for cost estimation purposes.
• Collaborate with the technical team on process simulations, evaluations, investigations, and performance and yield optimization initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, or engineering.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in engineering or production within the chemical industry.
• Hands-on experience designing or optimizing process control systems in chemical plants.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Strong understanding of mass and heat balance calculations for chemical processes.
• Proven leadership skills, with a track record of team development and collaboration in a team-based environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, creative thinking, and analytical abilities.

Preferred Requirements:

• Master’s degree in chemical engineering.
• Experience with chemical process simulations, such as polymerization, distillation, or drying processes.
• Technical expertise in polymer extrusion processes.
• Knowledge of DCS programming and PID parameter tuning.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or TPM.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VBA, macros, or related software engineering tools.
• Demonstrated experience leading Capex projects.
• Proficiency in Management of Change (MOC), process safety assessments (PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, QRA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
