As an AS&T Intern, you are to perform and complete tasks in the projects/actions in AS&T department including equipment setup, validation execution, requalification, SOP changes and protocol drafting in our Tuas site. In this role, a typical day will include:

· Perform lifecycle management and documentation for QC lab instrument

· Assist in QC instrument status updates for calibration and preventive maintenance

· Perform validation/verification activities for lab equipment based on project plan

· Perform revision/creation of SOPs related to the project implementation in laboratories

· Carry out documentation support for requalification activities of laboratory equipment

· Perform duties as assigned by AS&T manager or designee

· Ensure QC activities compliant to local SOP, CORP, VCG, OSHA and regulatory requirements

· Participate in QC and AS&T community discussion

· Prompt delivery of technical support to QC Operation

· Successful completion of equipment qualification and validation according to requirements

· Timely completion of assigned tasks in projects without compromising quality and safety

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Be the owner of Product Quality and work closely with Materials Engineers, Customer Quality Engineers, and Quality Systems Engineers to enable CMC Materials to supply Worry-Free products to our customers.
• Lead the team to update and maintain manufacturing documentation (SOP, work instruction, batch card, FMEA, Control Plan, RFC, P&ID) to ensure their accuracy and efficiency. Review documents regularly to ensure their compliance with Safety, Quality and other regulatory requirements.

• Own the root cause investigation for any production, quality and customer issues related to the manufacturing process or equipment. Support Materials Engineering team in root cause finding for issues related to raw materials.
• Develop Preventative Maintenance schedule for all existing process equipment and support Maintenance Team to timely execute the PM program.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities with a data-based approach, balancing the needs of safety, quality, cost, reliability, and capacity.
• Develop a robust SQC/SPC program balancing process capability and customer requirements. Update process parameter control limits at defined intervals and own the trend reviews to ensure all processes are in control.
• Work with Control System Engineers, lab, and Materials Engineers to ensure data accuracy and availability. Drive a culture of data-based decision making.
• Develop transfer functions between customer performance requirements and internal manufacturing key characteristics. Develop/implement control strategies to ensure consistent performance at customers’ locations.
• Work closely with operation associates, shift supervisors, and operation managers to train and encourage production staff to follow procedures and understand the impact of their actions.
• Optimize production process in terms of defining sampling points & frequency, choosing helpful in-process test protocols, and working closely with the control systems team to define all control schemes.
• Drive Best-Practice sharing/transfer among global manufacturing sites.
• Support all corporate EH&S and Quality initiatives.
• Support capital projects where vital to implement new products or processes

Qualifications and Experience

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering is required. MS or higher in Chemical Engineering is a plus
• 2+ years of experience in a chemical processing environment is required. In-depth knowledge with chemical engineering unit operations: mixing, sophisticated filtration, material handling and distillation is helpful.
• Experience with PSM is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD or SAP is a plus.
