Job Summary
The Lead Repair Development Engineer, Laser Ablative Technology, is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing laser ablation processes in cooling holes clearing application. You will be part of AMRT (Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technology) Breakthrough team and support industrialization of process around the global repair network to deliver quality and productivity, as well as transactional services growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- The focus for this role is to lead to identify, develop, industrialize, and globalize laser ablation processes for cooling holes clearing technology for the services network. This role can affect short-term and long-term business goals.
- Hands-on experimentation to apply and integrate advancements in laser technology to enhance process efficiency and quality
- Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements.
- Understanding of laser system and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Identify project, develop, industrialize and globalize cooling holes clearing technology for the services network
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams on development and implement of technology
- Provide technical leadership to other personnel; mentor others in the organization
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments
- Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience and at least 5 years of experience in Laser technology
- Experience in laser physics and ability to demonstrate a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges through direct engagement with equipment and processes.
- Basic understanding of robotic concepts and systems, including vision systems and kinematics
- Ability and willingness to travel a minimum 10% of the time, as required
- Able to demonstrate experience in project management and hands on trials
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good communication and documentation skills
