The Position
We are currently seeking an Instrument Designer who will check in database and prepare / update Electrical and Instrument Autocad drawings. This role is a 6-month contract and will be based at the yard office in Tuas.
You are responsible for
- Perform pre- and detailed engineering for Instrument & control systems.
- Prepare I&C documentation including: philosophies, specifications, datasheets, technical requisitions etc.
- Provide input to instrument drawings, including:, block diagrams, loop diagrams and termination diagrams etc.
- Ensure design is in accordance with regulatory, class, client, and corporate requirements.
- Develop material take-off and cost input for instrument discipline.
- Provide input and manage instrument databases, including cable schedules, I/O Lists, Instrument Index and Instrument equipment list.
- To assist the principal engineer in the compilation of planning, co-ordination, and execution of the groups work activities.
- Ensure project deliverables are generated using the company’s systems/tools in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
- Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, and commissioning issues.
- Implement the company change management process, as required, via the company’s procedures.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, design reviews and other relevant safety reviews.
- Coordinate and manage assigned scopes for instrument, control & safety systems and F&G system packaged equipment under the direction of a principal or senior engineer.
- Ensure understanding, acceptance, and visible commitment to Health & Safety / regulatory standards.
- Undertake inter-discipline tasks/assignments for the Electrical & Telecoms disciplines under the direction of the assigned principal engineer or senior engineer.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience within the FPSO industry
