RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance and daily operations of the DC facilities with the objective of achieving uninterrupted availability at all times and to ensure the fulfillment of our service commitment to customers.
• Support service delivery to ensure contracted service level agreements and key performance indicators are met or exceeded.
• Perform routine facilities activities including inventory control. Critical systems checks and functional testing. Able to respond and take action in response to facilities crisis management activities including: power outages, fire alarms, HVAC outages. Analyze data and identify trends with facility issues to determine root cause and take appropriate action.
• Respond to BMS/EMS alerts, investigate and feedback on any outstanding issues or events and respond to emergency situations and be on standby duty as required.
• Provide technical support to all aspects of data center operations including the operation, maintenance and repair of all mission critical equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 data center operation to achieve 100% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.
• Assist in all site construction activities and installations, in coordination with external contractors to ensure system design, installation and testing adhere to operational standards. Witness testing of all equipment during commissioning and validate sequence of operations and receipt of all operational documentation.
• Support for customer installations, in coordination with the design & construction as well as operations requirements to coordinate customer move-in and turn-on, and other service request & deliveries.
• Maintain compliance with local workplace safety & health (WHS) standards and local electrical and building codes.
• Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP), method of procedures (MOP), and emergency response procedures (ERP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process.
• Participate in the scheduling, coordination and completion all significant planned and emergency maintenance events for the facility and ensure these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method to ensure the reliability of the critical loads supported by these systems.
• Support various accreditation, certification and compliance initiatives such as BCA-IDA Green Mark DC/QMS/ISMS/BCMS/PCIDSS/OSPAR, etc as may be required.

• ITE/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification

• To assist the Maintenance Manager to implement the execution of preventive maintenance and repair schedules of all machinery, equipment and facilities and see to the proper execution by employee staff or external agencies or contractors.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager to prepare the duty roster of maintenance staff.
• To conduct daily briefing of staff and assign duties to staff to carry out the necessary building operation and engineering works.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager in the execution of administrative duties such as inventory management, record keeping of engineering work / repair, etc.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure good housekeeping standard of the engineering workshop and that all safety procedures and rules are adhered to.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager to obtain quotations for all the necessary works by external agencies / contractors and for all necessary purchases from suppliers.
• To contribute towards cost management of the department and ensure that there are no wastage, negligence or dishonesty.
• To ensure that the staff in the department provides a high standard of engineering services which meets the expectations of the building owner / tenants / guests.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, to ensure that that the maintenance staffs are adequately deployed and that they are properly trained to discharge their roles.
• Mentor, coach & orientate new as well as existing staff in their roles & responsibilities towards the department goal.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, to assist the maintenance staff retention and to take appropriate measure in furtherance of staff stability.
• To ensure that effective fire safety, work place safety practices and enforcement of local Health & Safety regulations are met.
• Ensure to assist department to comply all authorities' requirement
• To ensure that Hotel management is satisfied with the quality of services rendered by the Engineering department.
• To ensure that the Hotels guests receive an adequate level of engineering services that satisfies their concerns and needs.

Job Requirement

• Candidate must possess a Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services or equivalent. Preferably with Engineering Degree.
• Preferably with minimum 3 years or more of experience in Engineering management in similar capacity
• Able to deal with suppliers / contractors / government bodies
• Able to manage various projects at any point of time.
• Exposure to purchasing, cost control beneficial
• Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel of computer for preparing reports
• Sound Knowledge of Hotel Engineering and Management
• Sound knowledge in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Engineering
• Possess skills in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of building equipment
• Good communication skills (verbal and written), able to resolve any conflicts.
• Good coaching skill, ability to lead the junior maintenance staff.
• Willingness to learn and work as a team member

Responsibilities

Sample Preparation

• Receive and label all samples brought into the lab for accountability.
• Prepare samples from drying, crushing, splitting and pulverising.
• Mix fluxing reagents and load samples in furnace for the fire assay.
• Mix reagents for acid digestions.
• Perform fire assay techniques such as fluxing, fusing and cupellation of samples.
• Perform smelting and sample extraction of precious metals as and when required.

Recovery of Precious Metals such as Gold and Silver

• Accurate usage of chemicals such as acids.
• Ensure proper usage of PPE.
• Proper operation of equipment such as furnace during smelting process.

Perform Laboratory Data Analysis and Reporting

• Testing of precious metals scraps through cupellation method (fire assaying).
• Evaluate, validate, ensure and report technical accuracy of reporting analytical results.
• Monitor analytical processes and take remedial actions where deviations / discrepancies arise impacting the quality of analytical results.
• Re-analyse analysis samples when control results are not within the acceptable range.

Quality Control

• Inspect samples, fusions, lead buttons and prills to ensure the assaying method is correct.
• Maintain records and accountability of materials (samples and standards) and equipment used.

• Report any apparatus or equipment which, to your knowledge, is not functioning correctly to the Lab manager.

Laboratory Housekeeping

• Ensure and maintain work areas and equipment are clean, tidy and organised.

• Ensure and maintain proper sample disposal of wastes or water generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with the disposal regulations and requirements.
• React appropriately and immediately to emergency situations and assists other employees in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.

Educational & Professional Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma qualification in Chemistry or its related field.
• Knowledge in safe handling of industrial chemicals.

Relevant Experience
