Excavating Machine Operator

Job Summary

Responsible for operating mechanical excavating equipment to move and remove earth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Uses machines to remove earth.
• Operates dragline, clamshell and other excavating machines.
• Dumps earth into trucks.
• Dredges lakes, streams, and swamps; hauls mud.
• Operates trucks, dump trucks, and bulldozers.
• Operates landfill compaction equipment.
• Covers refuse in sanitary landfill.
• Supervises laborers and equipment operators in excavating work.
• Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email and database software in performing work assignments.
• Prepares etching solution according to formula.
• Perform activities such as backfilling excavations, vibrating or breaking rock or concrete, and making winter roads.
• Lubricates, adjusts, and repairs machinery, and replaces parts such as gears, bearings, and bucket teeth.
• Set up and inspect equipment.
• Measures and verifies levels of rock or gravel, bases, and other excavated material.
• Moves materials over short distances, such a around a construction site, factory, or warehouse.

Work location: Jurong East (near IMM)

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 8.00am – 5pm

Remuneration / Benefits:

• Basic salary up to 3.5k
• Guaranteed AWS
• Performance bonus (twice per year)
• Flexi pay $300 per year
• Fixed transport allowance from home to office provided (amount calculated based on distance)
• Increment after probation (subject to performance)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee a team of lift technicians to ensure seamless coordination of work assignments
• Provide technical assistance for preventive and corrective maintenance
• Ensure proper records are maintained
• Assist in investigating damage/accidents and collaborate with clients by providing timely updates on maintenance work progress and addressing their concerns
• Conduct regular inspections to guarantee compliance with safety standards and promptly address when issues arise
• Manage inventory and procurement of necessary supplies to ensure smooth operations
• Other duties as assigned by manager
