Job Description

• Maintain and rectify electrical, mechanical and engineering works, plumbing, fire safety equipment and all other auxiliary services of the organisation and its premise.

• Execute/operate and ensure all audio-visual equipment for conferences and events are in good working condition.

• Perform routine maintenance, corrective and preventative maintenance and regular tests on building equipment and facilities.

• Ensure the general cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, control rooms and Maintenance Office.

• Analyse maintenance concerns from other departments; produce Job Order Forms and follow-up to ensure concerns are rectified.

• Report any suspicious or hazardous concerns to the Assistant Security Manager, housekeeping matters to the Executive Housekeeper and maintenance defects to the Maintenance Manager.

• Comply with regulatory and organisational Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and practices.

• Report accidents, near misses and incidents in accordance with WSH reporting practices.

• Ensure compliance with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) standards and practices.

• Ensure compliance with Environmental Sustainability regulatory and organisational requirements.

• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to improve time, cost and quality management.

• Assist in all official events and functions of the organisation.

• Any other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• NITEC, NTC Grade 3, a Professional Certificate or equivalent.

• Higher NITEC Building Facilities or related field will be advantageous.

• 3 years technical experience or more with 2 years in building and/or Hospitality Industry.

• Matured, proactive with positive mindset.

• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

• Guest-centric with passion to serve.

• Excellent interpersonal, with good communication skills.

• Ability to perform independently and as a team.

• Able to work 6 days work week with 3 rotating shifts.

• Working location is in Orchard area.

• Lead and supervise the Maintenance Team and Term Contractors to deliver high quality standards for building maintenance
• Conducts routine inspection of all offices, guest rooms and public areas to ensure facilities are in good condition and corrective actions are taken accordingly
• Recommends to Management on ad-hoc required improvement projects from time to time
• Manages projects and implements preventive maintenance programmes to ensure the company facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the company's business operations
• Ensures the building safety is in compliance with all regulations set by the local authorities and conducts investigations for non-compliance and develops corrective actions/plans
• Conduct training, drills and exercises in fire safety and ensures that fire safety requirements set by SCDF are fulfilled
• Responsible for budgetary controls and manages costs effectively for all maintenance works
• Undertake any building related duties that may arise from time to time

Requirements

• At least a Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or Facility Management
• Minimum 5 years M&E experience in a similar capacity, preferably in hotel, serviced apartment, or office environment
• Fire Safety Manager Certificate or LEW Certificate will be an advantage. Successful candidate without these qualifications but with the required work experience will be sent for Fire Safety Manager Course.
• Strong leadership skills to manage working teams
• Good communication and report-writing skills
• Good project management and budgetary planning skills
